OTHER HS SCHOOL 2022 TARGETS

We have the obvious big 3 of Matthews,Perkins, and Citizen,
but what other prospects are we even considering? I guess we can now add Danny Lewis to that as well. Obvious a huge focus is on transfer portal and rightfully so. Are names like R Mason Thomas, Tj Dudley, any other CBs or LBs being focused on?

Yup just checking out geaux 247 and a couple of 4 star prospects are still out there but seems to be no smoke. I guess it makes sense to just hit the portal this class as long as we can bet for sure ones like matthews,citizen,lewis, and maybe perkins.

Apparently they weren't sure of his legal troubles and pulled wesolak. Shea on Jordy's show said 100% they are still on for Perkins. He apparently trying to take a visit here soon.

Another thread says A.J. Allen has not been offered... yet. I could see an offer if Goodwin or Bradford don't make grades.

Totally understand these kids getting their money but Perkins seems like a diva that will sell himself to the highest bidder. He interviews terribly. It’s no wonder these radio guys interview his uncle instead of him cause yikes!

Which is odd bc the high school coaches and recruit scouts consistently point out and praise Perkins’ “high FB IQ” yet he genuinely speaks like he’s on the spectrum. I know a lot of it can be age/environment and they’re also not mutually exclusive. Plus some players just have natural instincts for the game, so that could just be how they label it as opposed to a Joe Burrow breaking down and articulating film to coaches.
I do agree that he comes off as a “don’t care about anything but getting to the league A$AP” which is the exact mentality we’re actively weeding out and avoiding regardless of talent. Could be the next Arik Gilbert or could be the next Patrick Willis. Will most likely end up being a decent playmaker for 2 seasons when healthy, then opt out of the 2025 Texas bowl for some late 3rd round money.

I'd like to see us take back those rocks we told him to kick and use one of of numerous spots on Lucas Taylor. It will take a couple years and he is a project, but I think we will regret not taking him over time.
I wonder, and this is just wondering to be clear, if some connections CBK has aren't working to do a last minute steal on Josh Conerly.
DJ Allen (WR)? Don't think we've offered, don't think we will... not enough need for 5'11" WR.
TJ Dudley (LB) on the other hand, position of need, unsigned (Oregon commit).
