That's what we're trying to figure out.

Many months ago, he got an offer.

Is LSU recruiting him? Is so, what's the gist of their approach. Is it a situation where they "keep a guy's seat warm" just in case?

I got the impression that Ford wants to play RB in college, but kids can quickly change their mind.

Outside of Kaleb Jackson, LSU will have lighter RBs going into 2025. Ford could carve out a nice place for himself in the rotation as a bruiser back. Picture him coming in mid 3rd Qtr to wear teams down when LSU wants to hold a lead and as the short yardage and red zone RB.

I wouldn’t mind a trio of Berry, Lindsey, and Ford in this class

I’m not sure if Opelousas can duplicate what they did last year. I know 7v7 is a different ballgame and hard to judge a team on but Opelousas just lost to Mamou last week in 7v7. Mamou over the past 10 years has been one of the worst programs in the state but may be turning it around. It was surprising to see Opelousas losing to a program of that stature even if it is 7v7.

You can’t hand the ball to D’Shaun Ford & win 7 v 7 games

When the pads come on, no one wants to tackle this guy. He is the heart & soul of that offense

I’ve seen a lot of great teams be subpar at 7x7. Opelousas returns almost the entire team. They might be the best overall team in the state.

They are not a 7v7 type team. They are a smash mouth team.

White ran a 10.76 at North Webster

Does anyone know Ford’s time in the 40 or 100?

White was a definitely a better athlete, I’m mostly referring to that he looks like a dude no one wants to tackle or have tackle them. He just looks menacing.

Exactly. They will throw when necessary, but Coach Zach is going to pound it all game. Punch you in the mouth and test your manhood. And a tough D to back that up. 7v7 ain't OHS.

Disagree. I'm not saying that he isn't a physical freak of nature and talented, but Cecilia "held" him to 145-160 yards and 2 TDs in both games last season and won the first game.

Opelousas QB Malveaux was the difference maker offensively in the title game with over 200 yards total and 2 TDs rushing himself. The read option wasn't contained and he gave the Cecilia defense trouble all game breaking loose for a 1st half score of over 65 yards and another for 30+ yards. I think the defense keying on Ford too aggressively ultimately was their undoing along with an exceptional defensive effort by Opelousas.

In the first meeting, Cecilia's defense forced 8 turnovers and recovered 5 of them. But credit Opelousas' defense in the rematch in the dome because they were able to force a 3 and out near the red zone to keep Cecilia off the scoreboard after they had blocked a punt and they also knocked out tailback Corey Broussard and put the burden on Diesel who was also held below 40 yards rushing.

Also runs track. As a sophomore, ran 100-meter times of 11.82 and 11.85, along with a 23.10 200.
Ran freshman 100-meter time of 11.53 in April 2022.

Data taken directly from 247sports scouting reports page on Ford's profile. It appears that he has slowed down some as he has filled out and bulked up.

Opelousas handed that game to Cecilia on a silver platter. Game was dominated, but you know that already!

Lol. Cecilia scored 4 times in the 2nd half after falling behind by 2 TDs to start the game. Recovered 3 of 6 forced fumbles and intercepted 2 passes from Malveaux. But yeah. Dominated lmao

I'm well aware what happened. Total luck. They didn't beat themselves in the dome.

October 25th...Opelousas...See you there!

Both of you make valid points.

Those were two great teams.

Ford got off to a great start, then Cecilia did a better job in the second half, and Malveaux didn't have a good night when asked to throw. I think Cecilia wore the Opelousas defense down towards the end of the regular season game. Cecilia moved the ball when it counted. The strip sack by Bronson Patt and other turnovers shifted the momentum.

Ford had around 160 yards rushing.
