jennings? maybe., but i like the 4.5 speed of harris and the rocket arm(his inaccuracy is blown out of proportion and focused on too much) ill take that rawness over jennings honestly with cam coaching. why play jennings now just to hold fort? just to switch to harris later? do it now./// not like jennings 2 games give him much edge..it'l show in the spring i realize, but i say harris or play both

FFS SHUT THE frick UP

Jesus christ. Why does this board have such an amazing infatuation when a new QB comes in with unrealistic expectations? First it was JJ, then it was Mett, then it was Jennings and now it's Harris. Every single time a young QB has a bad game these boards want to see the next in line. Newsflash: Harris is a true freshman and most likely going to struggle regardless how talented he is. It's incredibly rare for a freshman QB to come in and tear it up. Don't even use Manziel as example because he's a rare moment to happen in the SEC.

If these boards were in charge of coaching we'd have attrition every year at QB until they strike lightning in a bottle without any QB development.

Okay I won't use Manziel. How about Famous Jameis?

I argue this until I'm out of breath. People won't ever accept that.

In the history of college football, compare the amount of freshmen/sophomores that are successful to the amount that aren't All-Conference players in their first couple of years.

I'd love to see an actual ratio comparing the two.

I'm sure it's a one sided list. But sometimes you have exceptional freshmen, sophomores come in. Winston, Manziel, and Bridgewater to name a few.

Doesn't really matter If this class was number 1 or not. We have guys in every position of need, and most, if not all are elite if you combine last years class.

Ultimately, the pieces are there for a championship team..but the game still needs to be played on the field. Just because bama's class is a couple points higher, guarantees them nothing. Actually, right now...they are scared in Tuscaloosa. The man got rid of almost his whole staff after losing TWO games. Knowing that talent makes Saban, I'm order to earn his new 7.5 million deal, he had to get the players. And he did..but it guarantees him NOTHING. I think he is waning personally, I just don't think they can keep up the same intensity.

Gus and sumlin are about to give him fits of rage. He should've left.

Correct. But to expect ANY freshmen to perform like they did is just ridiculous and completely irrational.

You can HOPE they play that way. But to EXPECT it?

Saban is such a perfectionist, control freak I don't know how he isn't in a straight jacket.

I agree. But I will say this Prom, those schools let these QB's play and make plays using their talents. I hope Miles lets Jennings and Harris play. You can't be afraid of them makin mistakes because it's part of the learning process.

Exactly...... If they throw a pick its over, when you should come right back with some PA and pass again to show that QB and D we will & can. The pick he threw was just high, but the guy was wide open so it was a good read, just needs to calm a bit. He looked a lot more nervous in this one than he did in the Arky game IMO. Jennings I mean

this is probably the most ignorant thing you said. you would take a raw qb over a guy that last year we thought should take metts spot after the spring game? and not to mention will have two years under Cam Cameron...Jennings has more than a two game edge to he has a whole year under Cameron and practice with SEC defense each day than Harris. i agree this class has alot of energy and will be great in the next couple years.

One thing i have confidence in is Cam getting the most from his QB. He got Flacco a 20mil deal. They fire Cam and the next year everyone wants their money back.

Miles should be learning from past Heisman winners that a Freshman can compete and win at the highest level.

Think maybe that's why Miles started the freshman AJ over Rivers and Bolden?

Look, just a guide for the idiots on here: Les Miles doesn't need to learn ANYTHING about football that you already know or will ever know.

Tubucoco, consider this. Those teams underperformed LSU. Sure, their QBs looked flashy. But that's not winning football. If you want to win next year, you have to protect the QB the way Miles protected JJ and Saban protected AJ in his first year starting. That's what great coaches do!

Rivals for 1 could have elivated a couple of our 4 stars, but they are too concerned over another schools number 1 yearly status.

We know Paris, Adams, Valentine, Garrett, Brumfield, Quinn, Washington and Voorhies(who is a first team Parade all-American) are all 4 stars by Rivals. You can't convince me at least 3 or 4 couldn't have been 5 stars.

Both Manziel and Winston were REDSHIRT freshmen. NOT TRUE freshman. IOW, Jennings saw action in the year they were watching the games from home. Some of you need to gain a bit of freaking perspective.

Just be happy with our solid #2 class! It took the gumps signing arguably the strongest class in history, but I'll take the class our guys put together any year!

With what we got now, along with the class we just signed and next year looking very stout, and the coordinators we've got in place, we should take some pride in where we're at, and where we're going!

This times infinity! Great Post!

First off the class is top notch 1,2,3 what's the difference. One thing i do like about this class that is not measured YET is the character. Eventually that translates to the field.(especially when the talent levels are very close)

love your passion, but Alabama got every one they wanted with very few misses. We got some great players but Bama got almost all great players. In a normal year I would agree with you, but this year Bama took it to a absurdly high level. We took a hugh leap compared to the rest of the SEC however other than Bama, we fell a good bit farther behind them when it comes to pure talent. Fortunately it isn't always great talent that wins games. It take coaching also. Look what happened to them vs Auburn and Okie. Got out coached and outplayed. We have a better coaching than them (other than recruiting) and can still hang with them on the field.
