Now I see why Jay Johnson was disgusted

in the interview. What more can you do to keep young players? Brady Neal got opportunities in the post season, he did good, he’s the only returning catcher, and he still leaves. The only thing you can say is WTF.

I think the josh jordan post sums up the situation with Neal probably exactly.
He was looking for promises about starting we were probably not willing to give.

Well apparently Neal forgot the part about not sucking in order to be promised to start

I don’t care if it is HS, Juco or LSU. No coach worth a shite will make that promise.

Neal probably got upset about the veteran catcher coming in and Jay probably told him there would be a competition.

Or actually staying healthy for an entire year. He’s going to be injury proned based on his past injuries. He’s going to be very disappointed wherever he goes. His body won’t hold up.

Exactly defense was horrible.

Doesn’t matter the sport, IMG kids aren’t team oriented.

Agreed. Watch the guy in the regional decide to not run out a ground ball.
Kid has been coddled his whole life.
He needed to go

Indeed. However, he was given EVERY opportunity (and some maybe he didn't deserve). He has no one to blane but himself...

All these players will be replaced by better players.

I said the same thing. Not running it out. Cant teach hustle. Hustle is for free. And his bat toss over his head after he would hit a fly ball !
He had to go!

agreed. look at a guy like Will Hellmers as far as what we're looking for in a Tiger.

What did Josh Jordan post? I don’t have twitter.

Well, you could also look at it a couple other ways:
1) the players were not good enough which is a talent evaluation issue for Jay
2) Jay didn’t develop them in the years they have been at LSU (and in some cases, the player regressed)
Can’t just blame the kid

It’s never the kid’s fault. ????

Johnson is planning to replace the whole team through the portal and Neal saw the handwriting on the wall. I am waiting for another catcher to transfer in.
