Does Sanders have a chance to do that?
"Yessir, 100 percent," Smith stated.
0% Jackson State has a snowball chance in hell to land 4 and 5*'s. With or without Deion Sanders unless they transfer there!

If any kid. And I mean any one of them go to Jackson State over LSU then they belong somewhere like Jackson State.

They’d only hurt themselves but if it’s not LSU- I hope the go to Jackson State

He’ll get 5star & 4star kids that may not have the grades there are plenty, WKty, NLU(ULM) and Fla Gulfcoast(be it B-ball) have done It before , plus he will a nice petty cash fund in his desk I’m sure.

So the dumb jocks will go not the high IQ athletes

I would 100% watch a reality/docu type show of Deion at Jackson St. I think he's going to get outcasted stud players much like the teams featured on Last Chance U. And, he's a wild man.

If he goes to play for that team, he is a damned fool.

Exactly.... I don’t believe this will happen this year because there are far too many unknowns with him as a coach.
First, will he even be a decent coach at that school and at that level much less a good to great coach.
Second, if he does prove to be a good coach, will he stay? I seriously doubt that he will stay even another year if he proves to be a good coach and another big school comes calling, just no way! Of course you can’t recruit with that mentality but I would hope that Smith is well aware.
Sanders is only doing this to gain attention to his program and also let the 3* and occasional 4* know that he’s serious about surrounding them with quality talent, which may put some minds at ease.
If he’s any kind of HC then he should get plenty of under the radar type talent in Miss, Alabama, Texas and Louisiana. All are very similar in that each state has 100’s of guys that aren’t noticed or recruited by the big schools for whatever reason. Might be size/weight, might be grades, might be maturity, could be that he plays on a small or crappy school so doesn’t stand out or is covered by media, could be a country arse school that kicks everyone’s butt and no one even hears of him. You know how it works. There’s tons of players on these rural schools who can play some ball.
You start with those guys, develop them, kick some butt with them and that will Increase your options and raise your chances of landing a 4* guy every so often. I can’t see him picking up a darn 5* though? Not without paying substantial money and risking your career over that situation when it wouldn’t even need to be done to win big for that school. Even with a substantial offer, it’s not like the bigger schools wouldn’t know or figure out the number and either match it or raise it if need be.
These are the most coveted 32 players in the country and fought for by every school that matters. This includes some clean and dirty behind the scenes tactics! Idk maybe because he is who he is he could pull in 1 here or there, IF he’s a great coach, stays and recruits on the level of the top schools, at least for these most coveted players. That school would also need to invest tons of money into the program and they aren’t even close to the bottom dweller SEC teams. He’d have to have some type of mind trick device that he could use on the recruit, his mom, his HS coach and the rest of his family. That or convince them all to isolate themselves until he signs. Lol

I’m ok with Primetime recruiting Alabama’s 4 or 5 star recruits, just not LSU’s!
Posted on 9/22/20 at 9:38 pm to Tiger_Style
Come on man.
He isn't going there
Same way korey foreman had howard on his top 8.
Maason is just showing love
Deion is primetime,he is a legend.

He wants to go there, fine with me.

I could see a player here or there signing with him. I believe the majority of high level prospects will continue to go to schools that give them the best chance to get to the league. The SWAC ain’t it.

There have only been like 6 five stars ever that signed with Group of 5 schools. If it's that low for FBS non P5, I'm going to go out on a limb and say a FCS school has never landed one.

it’s more than just how the building looks when it comes to hbcu school
To who? You're definitely not talking about highly recruited athletes cuz "how the building looks" is important to those kids. Proof is in the pudding, how many 4 or 5 stars have HBCUs signed over the past 30 years? I'd venture to say none but if there were any, I bet I could count em on one hand.

It's a courtesy interview. Giving them some buzz to help with recruiting others.

Guy wants to play in the NFL and is considering a coach that's never coached a college football game and a school with terrible facilities. It's like preparing for war by shooting a BB gun in the back yard. He'd have to be borderline retarded.
