Perhaps I should say “charter” schools.

What if I told you that 1a schools can play schools not in 1a and 5a schools can play schools not in 5a.

I was gonna suggest that maybe Sheppard posted a slow 40 time in camp, but watching that film the dude looks like he jets.

Do you think these are not accurate or don't matter?

They are accurate in the macro, but not the micro.

On average, across a large number of recruits, they do a good job.

But discussing one specific recruit, they don't matter.

He ran past some defensive backs who had the angle on him on more than one long run.

Kinda like how far more than half of the kids Sheppard is playing against wouldn't make an SEC roster? Right?

It's way more than half, but that's not the point. The point I'm trying to make is that Nate Sheppard is performing out of his mind on a bigger stage against better competition.

I played in that district Berry is in. There are no try outs. Anybody who goes out there plays because it's the only way to field a team. There is barely a weight lifting or conditioning program, and the coaching is worse than recreational football at these schools.

So far, that's the best Harlem Berry has seen playing real 11v11 football. That's all I'm saying.

With that being said, I'm sure Berry will adjust just fine, especially if he's as good as advertised.

Although it may seem like I'm crapping on Berry, I'm really not. I'm very excited to see him as a Tiger, especially as a former 1A football player myself.

It just doesn't make sense to me! Like I said, I dont care about star ratings, so I dont even look at that. 40 times are great if you can break tackles (or make people miss) and get into the open field. So, I try to look at things like vision, patience, making people miss, and how fast he can get to full speed (dont know the term for that).

Sheppard is just doing those things at a higher level and against better competition.

What makes Harlem Berry better than Sheppard? Sheppard plays against 5A competition while Berry plays 1A.

I haven’t seen Nate play so I will not be able to compare the two but Berry is one of the fastest kids I’ve ever seen in high school football. The speed he shows just from taking a handoff to hitting the hole of almost scary.

Speed is great when in the open field. But, what does he do between the tackles? Because in the SEC he wont be able to take a toss right to the house every play. He's going to have to break tackles and make people miss in traffic.

Get a grip. If he is what you think he is he will get offer. If not then he is what we think he is. Decent talent not SEC talent.

So, because I think Sheppard should be offered based off the body of his work (like actual 11v11, 5A LA football work), I’m automatically affiliated with him?

That’s a reach bro. You obviously have not seen tape on this dude. If you did, you would want him as a Tiger as well.

Dylan Sampson. How’d we miss on him? He was in our back yard…no offer!

Why? Because he was 5’11 with a 4.4 40 too? GTFO!

You act like we don’t miss talent. LSU shouldnt miss on this one too.

lol! You laugh bc you don’t know. You can’t answer my question, so your opinion means crap to me. I at least have a legitimate question/concern. The jump from 1A ball to SEC is massive, especially for a running back.

You need to chill out, sir.

His 5 and 10yd splits matter there which are probably off the charts along with his lateral quickness and explosiveness

Did Caden Durham’s speed not matter on that 80yd run between the tackles the other night?

This staff didn’t miss on him. He had been committed to Tenn for 6 months before Frank and Kelly got here and signed like 2 weeks after they got here

I’d love for LSU to add Sheppard. He looks like a great player.
