They are with Citizen. It’s a feeding frenzy in Louisiana today.

Do people think this is abnormal? Coaches in house with LA recruits?

Juluke is going to Florida with him? That's a mistake. Dude sucks.

This is not abnormal at all.

What's abnormal is that our HC will not be in house with anyone until Thursday.

One of our biggest targets is 20 minutes from campus. There's a defensive back prospect ON campus. One of our biggest commitments is 10 minutes from campus. A 5* prospect just played a playoff game 40 minutes from campus.

This is peak recruiting season and there has been absolutely zero visible recruiting efforts made by our new HC.

I know all the white knights are going to jump my arse for being the slightest bit critical of Kelly, but it's definitely abnormal that our HC hasn't done any visible recruiting since taking the job.

No, I'm not panicking and I love the hire. But still...

Jabaar juluke's reminds me of a snake.

Is that a florida key chain in citizen's pocket?

Lsu needs to get him back.

Maybe Kelly has the assistants working on setting up a one on one with these recruits. He may be the type of salesman that believes that whoever makes the final pitch gets the sale, in this case the recruit. Just like ND, LSU sells itself to some of these young men, especially if they are from Louisiana or have roots/connections to the state. We will just have to wait and see how his first recruiting class goes and hopes he learns from whatever mistakes he may make. I think he will eventually see the light and become a dynamic recruiter for SEC talent.

Hiring coaches first is paramount. And I would expect him to take off running after that.

What about hiring coaches precludes him from making a few local recruiting visits to schools? Or taking in a high school playoff game on Friday night?

Pretty bold strategy when talking about kids he's never met before.

Is that a reason NOT to make as many in-homes as possible during the one week we have left?

Nothing particular, but it’s also more of an optic thing for fans at this point. He has to build a staff and work on keeping the guys he gas committed already. On top of moving his family, the media ringer, etc.

These are easy trips for him to squeeze in before ESD as opposed to coaches coming from out of state. Being able to tell recruits what his staff will look like will be most ideal for LSU

Until then the holdovers can continue to contact the guys LSU already has and maintain relationships.

It's hard to hide terrible coaches on a SEC staff
Juluke was terrible at LSU and when he got the axe New Orleans wanted to turn on LSU

It may be bold, it may be arrogant or it may be stupid. Nobody knows if he has had contact with any of these kids. My guess would be he hasn't, but he may be depending on those that have been recruiting them to give him a feel of whether he can get these kids to commit on a face to face visit.

I agree with you on this part, but I think he may be focused more on trying to put a quality staff together at the expense of a quality recruit.

My original post is about this year's recruiting. I think next year he will have to step it up if he is serious about competing and winning a championship. He is up against the big boys now, and they all play to win it all.

Well, here's another curiosity. As of last night, Kelly hadn't even met Brad Davis, a guy he's supposedly leaning on for recruiting. I thought this was pretty odd since one of our must important commits is an offensive lineman who apparently thinks extremely highly of Davis.

So, has he met Raymond or Baker?

Nothing. Napier is hiring a new staff and he is out recruiting.

I’d be killing Louisiana too. It’s going to take Kelly awhile to adapt to southern recruiting. It’s a fist fight all the way til the end. Dirty tactics galore. I’m guessing Kelly hasn’t experienced having a long term commit waffle on signing day because another school swooped in and upped the ante.

This is just the beginning. Napier will out recruit BK and will shine at UF.

.

Hold up, we just made a 100 million dollar investment on a coach. That is the type of mistake you make at Central Michigan or when leaving Cincy for ND. We aren’t paying that linda money for aww shucks I made a mistake. Send Austin Thomas or Brad Davis. I’m guessing Kelly would send somebody this week or better yet have AT make an appointment and a phone call.
