LSU's recruiting class is ranked 15th last time I looked with 13 commitments. Kelly spent the last 12 years at ND where the standard for recruits is a lot higher than most other programs. It could be that he will focus more on the transfer portal this year to get players with experience in needed areas. I don't know how many they can sign from the portal. That may be a factor in his approach to recruiting this year, but I do agree he looks like a lazy recruiter now, but there may be other factors that make it seem so.
The man has a 10-year contract but I don't think he promised Woodward a championship next year, but I do think that Woodward does expect him to be competitive in the West next year.

Doesn't UF have their own recruiting board?
And their class is ranked something like 60th. They need to be recruiting 24/7 to dig themselves out of the hole Mullen put them in. I'd be pretty motivated too.

He has promised some commits to be in house by tomorrow & others that he spoke to by phone (Matthew’s) that he’d see him in person before the dead period.

Has he ever even used the transfer portal? Some ND posters were saying ND can't even really take transfers, so it would be curious if Kelly suddenly were going to rely on it for building a team.

Napier is a relentless recruiter. And very well respected within the high school ranks in Louisiana. Gonna have to work to out recruit him in LA

LOL, not freaking out. If he ends up with a top 10 recruiting class that would be good for me. If he happens to miss out on some 5- or 4-star recruit from LA, so what! It won't be the first or last time it happens to him. If you read my whole post, people commented that he hasn't been recruiting. The man just came to BR and I'm sure he has been busy with other things even though ESD is coming up on him. The man has done this for 30 years, I don't think he is in any panic mode.

Like I said earlier, his presence will not last in La.
Few years, may grab 1 or 2. He will be wasting time after that if he thinks he'll pull many out of La.

Won't lie...I liked the hire alot but I'm definitely not loving this...if even just the optics...we have a long way to go to rebuilding this roster to compete for the sec and NC, the roster seems as depleted as it has been since Dinardo was fired. The o line, Lbs, Dbs, hell...every position group outside of maybe QB and WR are lacking talent and thin. I guess we will know before long how his plan worked but I'm not loving this so far
