Never said it was anyone's fault.. Just trying to understand the allure of Moo St. Over LSU, or really any other school that puts tailbacks in the NFL like we do? Just not buying the Saquon Barkley BS because he was good but not so damn good that you would want to be like him. Emory has a chance to mold his own identity at a school that has way more tools for him to be successful and has proven that more consistently.

I was all Emery all the time since his sophomore season and relatively few knew much about him outside River Parish...
I tooted his horn and sung his praise for two years. I still believe he is the best all-around back in this class, but having said that I am not losing sleep if he leaves.
I'll take Cain and Davis all day and twice on Twosdays. If he wants to leave go, but we want you here and wish you in P&G.

Don't know exactly, but Moorehead's offensive philosophy is tailor-made for a guy like Emery.
While he was at Fordham, his main back averaged 21 carries a game his last two years. In 2 years that guy had nearly 3500 rush yards and 43 rushing TDs. His last year the guy caught the ball 31 times for almost 400 yards with 5 TDs.
While at Penn St under Moorehead's, Barkley averaged 18 carries a game posting 2770 rush yards and 36 rush TDs over those two years. What is most impressive is that over that 2 year span, Barkley also had 82 receptions for 1030 yards and 7 TDs.
His Fordham RB was the KR and PR and Barkley was a KR in his last year. The Fordham back averaged around 24 plays per game and Barkley averaged 22 plays per game over a span of 2 years a piece.
Moorehead will feed him the ball, and in many different ways. With that said, if Ensminger is to be believed, a guy like CEH will have plenty of pass catching opportunities on top of being the guy leading the charge.

Actually molding his own identity would be going to Mississippi St and balling out.
I don't see him getting close to the amount of carries and snaps over here than he would at MSU, and I want him bad. I still think him and Davis could form one hell of a 1-2 punch.

I never understand RB recruit who think this way. If they had a parent or advisor who knew anything they would know that it is much better to not be the bell cow RB your Freshman year. One of the things scouts and GM's loved about Sony Michael at Georgia is that he was able to split time and save some tread on the tires.

I see what you're saying there, but Gordon and Gurley carried the rock a lot and were first round picks. Fournette and Mccaffrey carried the ball even more and were both top 10 picks. Mccaffrey carried the ball 337 times as a sophomore, had 382 plays from scrimmage that year, and had over 430 plays total when you add in the returns that year.
Sure they love less wear, but they are looking mostly at talent and scheme fit. That's why the freaking Patriots of all teams picked a RB in the first round.

quote:that's mostly pointless. With all that in mind, the question would be did all those carries make them higher picks? Probably not. Gurley could have carried half the #, still been the same pick, and had a longer, healthier career.

Following his girlfriend!!!!!
After his first game in Tiger Stadium when he rushes for over 100 yards, he will forget her real fast when he has over 100 hot chicks to chose from!!!

At State he has to play LSU and Bama’s defense every year . That’s eight games he really will not enjoy . And that campus is just depressing, as is that ride up 55 and then through two hours of the desert to Starkpatch. Plus having all that “ Saquon Barkley” crap on his back and carrying the ball 8-10 times a game more than he should and the inherent health risk of that. I don’t get the “ bell cow “ thing with what we know about running back life spans and how they relate to total carries. Platooning backs is the only way to go if you want a long NFL career. I hope he’s thinking this through . The Long View is almost always the best view, he needs to take it.

Could also make cases for Jamal Peters and Devonta Jason as well.
