Have we ever lost a recruiting battle to them much less a running back? I really want John Emery in this class and I'm having a hard time understanding why Moo St. Is ahead of us on this. I know people have said it's because they offer immediate playing time, but LSU has put some backs in the NFL better than anyone, and right now we don't really have a proven tailback, so this seems to me like a no brainer to come here especially being from Louisiana. We have better everything than Mississippi St. and that's thinking without the purple and gold glasses. We never lose kids to them and it has me wondering what's going on there? Help me understand why he would choose them? Family there? Money? There is nothing fun about Starksville either.. Playing time excuse isn't good enough for me to believe for the reason I stated above. We just don't lose guys to there except maybe Dak Prescott, but we were late to the party on him.

Emery is being sold on being the only RB in their class and the next Saquon Barkley.

Why doesn't he beleive he could be that here? We have nothing but unproven backs.

He's following his girlfriend there. Simple as that.

ETA: Not to say that he definitely will be going there. Just that if he does, it will be for that reason and that reason alone.

Well It's a good thing to share some of the load. Keep the legs fresh and less chance of injury.

because only brosette leaves next year and davis (and most likely cain) come in as well.

so its A LOT of unproven backs.

If she’s there

Much more influential than being sold as the workload.

If he believes in himself he could be the guy here.

As soon as he sees that MSU will go back to being garbage now that Mullen is gone, he will change his mind.

If MSU's big sell is to be THE only back in the backfield it's just a model that won't work in the SEC anymore. RBs take a beating in this conference.

My hang up is why would he want to live in middle of nowhere Mississippi and be on a team that’s never won anything big since they’ve been in the conference?

If he wants to practice in cow pastures and not compete for sec championships, ya gotta question his chest.

Not sure if I would even count Dak, we initially offered him as a TE and only offered him as a QB when it was too late. More of a miss on our part.

Richie Brown we legit lost out on to MSU. You might say Keytaon Thompson but we were on him very late and already had Brennan and Narcisse on board.
