Let's break this ignorant comment down.
1. LSU takes another transfer qb over the guy they've been developing to play the position.
Public reaction: LSU doesn't have the ability to develop qbs, and that is why they go to the transfer portal.
Recruit reaction: If they can't develop me why would I go to that school?
Current rostered qbs: This is pointless to be here if im never going to play, so I should just transfer out.
At some point we have to develop a qb that we recruited.

If he goes somewhere, its somewhere that will guarantee him a starting role.
He's not going anywhere where he as to compete.
He could get drafted this year relatively early if he came out.

The transfer portal today is just as much about asset allocation as it is about anything else
Would you rather pay x amount of NIL dollars for Pratt who may or may not be an upgrade over Nuss, or would you rather spend that money on a player at another position who can 100% step in and make an impact?

Is Pratt for sure better than Nuss? I dont know I buy that.
I like what I've seen from Nuss but he really hasn't played enough for any of us to have a locked-in opinion. Taking Pratt would be a huge no confidence vote but we really don't know what the staff thinks of Nuss. Kelly/Denbrock/Sloan have earned the benefit of the doubt on QB decisions. I fully expect it to be Nuss next season but the staff has seen more of him than we have.

I'm not necessarily "locked in" just think I've seen enough to see the guy clearly has some big time talent and could probably be pretty good, just hasnt gotten quite enough run to show that here.
Heck, Jayden was very up and down last season and this season is completely different and has played at an elite level almost all season long. Which leads me to my next thing - twice we've taken transfer QBs who have started here recently with Burrow and Daniels and both times the QBs were MUCH better their 2nd seasons starting than 1st ones. Not going to be the case with everyone but I think shows getting up to speed in year 1 starting at a new place isnt always easy. Nuss would have a big advantage from a chemistry standpoint over any transfer in that respect as he's been here 3 years already and with the same OC for 2 years.
Pratt has played really well at Tulane but I dont necessarily see him as a cant miss type of guy so far. He's played nobody outside of Memphis this season and even Memphis has a mediocre defense so its also hard to judge how someone like that plays on a much tougher level - yes they get better players on this level but things just move faster in general. Dillion Gabriel took some tough ones last season at OU from UCF and is now much better himself in year 2 there.

Imho I don’t think Nuss is one and done I mean starter that is, if he actually is good enough to be a Top 5 pick that means one thing. He’ll have to be Outstanding and LSU could be in the Natty hunt which is what we’re expecting as a team anyway. Unless the Defense is horrible again, he would have to have CW numbers and he won’t at least mobility wise. Seriously we haven’t seen him lead a team with a meaningful snap yet. Selfishly I hope he stays and starts 2 years, which Our best 2 QBs have and improved tremendously in year 2. I don’t think we’ve seen anything out of Nuss to say he’s going to set the world on fire and ride into the draft as the sure Top 10 pick. He will hopefully be good next year and potentially be Great the next. Best case scenario Nuss for 2 and God I Pray for Underwood the next 2. Ultimate situation for LSU.

Most of the top programs welcome transfer QBs.

This is how college football will be from now on. It is like the NFL with everyone in their "PLAYER OPTION" year.

Don’t understand the confidence many here have for Nuss.
His body of work does not justify the enthusiasm.
I hope he is better than he has demonstrated to date.

LSU's success with transfer portal guys has been in the second year. Pratt has only one left. For comparison look at Daniels and Burrow in year 1. Devin Leary finally looked like a competent QB after 8 games at UK and the season is already gone for them.
Hence, I am not in it for a one year guy. I would spend that time developing the guys we have.

I like Nuss, I think he is going to be a really good QB, but I'm not sure about awesome. So, with that said I'd go out and get the best QB with at least 2 yrs left and let the chips fall where they may.
Nuss has been in our system for so long that if someone can come in after this year and beat not only him but our other QB's out that is saying something.

Gotta think that if/when LSU goes portal shopping for a QB it will be a guy with at least 2 years left to play. Not that worried about Bama taking him since it would cause a mass exodus of QBs from them.
First school that comes to mind is Ole Miss.
Dart has another year. Why would he enter the 2024 draft when from what I have seen there are about 17 QB's with grades of at least 4th round. Sanders is one of them (1st/2nd round grade so he will likely come back) but all the other ones are in the draft.
He, in my view, like Pratt should come back and play next year and go into the 2025 draft where they will not be in a heavy QB prospect draft like the 2024 draft will be.
