Kind of a CSB but I wanted to share with y’all
Flew from Houston to BR yesterday afternoon. Had my LSU hat on and a young man coming down the aisle to his seat tapped me and asked if I went to LSU. I told him that I went there for grad school and now I work there. He told me he and his mom were coming to visit for the weekend. I quickly realized he was a football player and told him that he would have a great time and highly recommended LSU.
Had a helluva week so I didn’t catch his name - just that he was from California. A lady asked him why he wasn’t looking at schools in L.A. and he said he wanted to play in the SEC.
When we got off the plane I joked with him that BTR “ain’t LAX huh?” because it’s so small and he said he liked that it was different from where he’s from.
Anyway, the thing that stuck out to me aside from how big he was was that he had incredible manners. He ended everything with either yes ma’am or yes sir and was very gracious to people wishing him well. I’m only 29 but I know that is rare in kids these days. I told his mom that she should be very proud he was such a nice young man.
I clicked on the link today when he was committed and realized that’s who I had met.
TLDR: We pulled another good player from the west coast at a position of need and this one seems like a very high character kid. Happy to have Jordan on board. Geaux Tigers!

Thanks for that report. It’s good to know that the combination of athletic ability and character will be representing us on the field.

You should have told him to never read the tiger droppings forums.

VCSB!
Very pleasing to hear that this young man was so courteous toward you and the others and then commits.
California, you say. Im trying to remember a California recruit other than a QB. Ricks commits and now Berry.

this may have helped in making LSU stand out in the recruit's mind, so you may have assisted in landing this recruit!

I'm glad that the coaches are pulling high character players. You feel good about kids like that representing LSU and Louisiana.

Good man. You’d be surprise how the littlest things can making the biggest and longest impressions in life. I would have been a very proud parent.

I got Rondell Mealy to go to LSU years ago...he was chaperoning DEstrehan Band..gave him a shout...I told him we need him...he was all smiles, but he was leaning Tennessee..a couple weeks later..He was all Tiger! I would like to think it was me..but..I doubt it.

I doubt I was Jordan’s swaying factor. Might have been the Parrain’s someone was telling him to get. That said, Tiger fans (and Louisianians) are a good bunch so maybe that stuck with he and his mom. I’m sure I wasn’t the only person who was nice to them this weekend but maybe I’ll take a little credit for getting him here.

I googled his high school and he could literally walk to the oceanfront from there. Big change from there Baton Rouge
