Eaglestaff was signed
…with South Carolina. If (and we don’t know if that is the case) he was a top target for LSU it doesn’t look good that he chose the only team worse than LSU. An LSU who is now (if you believe Glen Guilbeau) flush with cash on the level of Kentucky and Arkansas
Which does not bode well for McMahon, lsu, and in turn us. We just want a somewhat good basketball team.
Is that too much to ask? Still can't believe wade is at NC state.

I think eaglestaff will be a good piece for them but I don’t know if I want to pay a mid major guy like that the rumored 1.2-1.5 million he got. He had some really good numbers against good comp but doing that a whole season in the sec is a totally different story. Who knows maybe i’m wrong and he’s the next dalton knecht either way it’s a gamble paying a mid major guy that type of money and obviously one our staff didn’t want to take.
Do they think Broome, Walter Clayton, Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, etc went to their winning SEC programs on a discount because they were leaving a mid major?

Hard to argue against that. I guess my point is that if I’m on the hot seat I’d rather pay (or overpay) for guys with actual SEC production. For example Jason Edwards vandy pg is commanding the same type of money as Eaglestaff. Just my preference but I’d rather throw 1.5 at somebody like that over a mid major gamble if my job was depending on it.

We have zero evidence this is the case. Why are you putting out BS like this? We know you have ZERO inside knowledge.

It sounds like Flory is between Auburn and IU. But I wouldn’t mind having Passmore on the bench. I really liked him coming out of high school too. I remember our staff felt really good after he visited then Self came in with the bag.
Yeah, Flory is probably 60/40 Auburn/Indiana. Passmore is an athletic wing who Self played when he needed a defensive stop down the stretch. Shot well from 3 on high school, high motor, still needs to refine his offensive skills. Would be fun to see in transition.
As A KU fan, definitely wish he was staying to develop another year (and wish he’d gotten minutes over Storr last season). If I hear anything from his high school coach I’ll post in here.

No. I want a basketball team that makes the NCAA tournament every year. That is something we had recently. I don't want to settle for a somewhat good basketball team (whatever that means).
If you can make the tournament every year, you give yourself a chance at a big run.
When are we going to see some actual commitments to LSU from the portal? How many portal players is McMahon going to take?

Unless you want MM gone

I like this. One of my favorite mid major guys we’ve contacted.

Miller is going to be a star at whatever school he ends up at. Has first round talent, but just wasted here. Sad.

It's only been open a week, so I wouldn't freak out just yet.

As of today, LSU has 6 open roster spots (assuming no one in the portal now comes back). The current roster is:
3 incoming true Freshmen
2 sophomores (R. Miller and Givens)
2 seniors/4th year players (Reed and Collins)
Given the amount of guys LSU needs to bring in, and the purported "big money" they have to spend, you would hope to start seeing at least a couple of commitments relatively soon (within the next 7-10 days).

Same. Very smooth and in control player.

Graves, the guy from Omaha and Hall seem to be 3 of our top targets right now.

I love how the other two teams have actual dates and we are TBD. Just a microcosm of our bball program.

Nice strategy, I guess you’re going with overpaid
