MBB Commitment Watch- Matt Gilhool

Be on the lookout for 2025 4-star PF Matt Gilhool's commitment. He visited over the weekend and is now set to decide at 6:30 pm EST tomorrow. Looking like this could be our first commitment of the 2025 cycle.

Out of Philadelphia. Most sites have him as the #1 or #2 player in PA (of course, that can sometimes be misleading because top players often leave their home state to play a a "prep-school"...see Chris Cenac who is the #1 player in Missouri...even though he's from New Orleans).
He looks like a Jalen Reed type player 6'10, not explosive athletically, but skill to play inside and out. If LSU can land him and Cenac (6'10 Center), that's a solid, young, frontcourt.
McMahon has been a solid recruiter at LSU. He HAS to start turning that into on-court production though. Hopefully this is the year we start to see that happen.

That started this past season with an upper half finish in the league and an NIT bid. The Fantastic Climb to the Top 2.0 is well under way.

Great get. These are the PFs you need in CBB. Guys who are consistent knockdown spread the floor shooters. Give him another year to put 15-20 pounds on and he can come in and contribute immediately. Future is looking brighter and brighter

Looks like a 4yr guy who can be a solid program player & hopefully develops into a stretch 4.

He is a lot quicker than Baker and can dunk the ball. Plays a lot like former first round draft pick Anthony Randolph who was also 6-10.

Jalen Reece and Jasir Rencher are the two other guys I think we land. They both visit this month so we’ll see how it all goes. I plan to make a thread today or tomorrow about upcoming visits and who we’re targeting but it seems like we’ve put the full court press on for Reece as our pg for the ‘25 class.

Tigers are doing everything they can to land Chris Cenac . I wouldn’t count them out of it . We get the last visit for the Alabama football game , and seems to be a lot of chatter that as of now lsu is right there at the top and has a real chance to pull it off

To me it seems he plays as I imagine Hunter Dean played before coaches got ahold of him and stopped him from shooting.
