All that matters is O knows his system or what he wants. Think about it, do you really think Salisbury is coming to coach Brennan or his buddies son? Its a package deal and Brennan is the 3rd wheel.

Need a bunch big guys blocking for him.

Brennan is going to be a fourth year junior who had worked with Salisbury for a year to a year and a half before Johnson even steps foot on campus. I seriously doubt Orgeron is just going to allow Salisbury to give a true freshmen the starting job and I seriously doubt Johnson would beat Brennan out in an open competition.
Also, you're acting like Salisbury will have total autonomy over who the starter is, even though we have no idea what his exactly role will be. Or even IF he's actually going to be a coach. Remember, last year they were trying to hire him as an analyst, not a coach. Whatever Salisbury's role is, Ensminger is still going to be the OC in all likelihood.

His buddy's son is going to be in HS next year so he better be coaching Brennan.

Just tell me he is not a project.

Not trying to be inflammatory
But what is the system that he wants exactly?

Makes quick decisions and gets rid of the ball quick. He reads defenses at the line of scrimmage before the snap and finds the mismatch. He has a really good arm too. This is just what we need at qb. Geaux tigers.

I'm just gonna point out the obvious here. Every single year we have a QB commit and everybody watches his highlight tape and its "future star at LSU".. "Cant miss prospect".. etc.. then they get here and its 50% completion with 155 yards per game. One of the worst offenses in the SEC. Then we'll say the same thing about the next guy that commits. I HATE to be a pessimist, but this offense of ours has worn me down over the years. Until we clean house on the offensive staff and have a coach come in and install a modern offense I dont have hope. Downvote the shite out of me, I deserve it.

Welcome aboard young man. We are happy to have you.

It's the truth.
I appreciate him committing to LSU, but I'm not going to get attached or really look atm..
Plus it's a future recruit, and he seems very solid.. but anything can happen.
I am still happy for him and LSU.. Just not going to get crazy about it atm.

I don’t know about y’all but I love that response from a kid. He definitley is a guy that wants to be at LSU regardless of anything else.

I actually got to know Rick Johnson (Brad's dad) at Camp Ridgecrest outside Black Mountain, NC. Rick was the director there and Brad lived at the camp. Truett Cathy used to sponsor kids to Ridgecrest for years until he decided to open his own camp and hired Rick away. Brad at 9 years old had size 12 feet, I think. Funny, he used to go everywhere carrying a basketball. Didn't know he was a football player until he turned up at FSU.
Anyway, enough hijacking of y'all's thread. I'll be rooting for Max 11 weeks of y'all's season.
(P.S. My wife and I had a great time at Baton Rouge this season. The LSU fans were great to us. We will be back.)

He threw 38% last year.
So what, besides his dad makes you feel like we NOW have a qb prospect?
Did you not know we already had a 4 Star QB committed for his class?
Perfect example of double standard. Finley supposedly would never play for LSU. Many started to make all sorts of wild claims about his bad attitude and bad completion percentage in order to downplay him. But yureka, Johnson is the savior.

Open your eyes. Many people are raising concerns about Johnson's stats and some (me for one) have said there are all sorts of reasons a HS QB might have a low completion percentage that don't have to do with whether or not he's an accurate passer.

I thought this kid was a PoS let some on this site tell it. I am glad he has confirmed he has a chest.
Finley and Max should develop nicely once we get the OC position figured out.

You know exactly why. If you are familiar with Ponchatoula and the ones who claim to watch Finley and are from the area they do nothing but bash the kid. Claiming he has a bad attitude and will never play a down at LSU. The interesting thing is they can never give you a legit reason why he will never play at LSU or what has he down to prove he has a bad attitude.

Probably learns more than our OC knows before he even gets to LSU eg. Burrow and Mett

You are not an LSU fan. Go to hell.
Shrike63 why don't you answer my question instead of attacking me? If our offense is so abysmal, why are top level QBs willing to commit to us?
As you hell, it looks like you are leading the way there.
