I'm not pouncing on him at all and I can understand if a kid just wants to leave the state. But Tennessee just isn't known for developing NFL DBs and winning championships. Lol

That's what I'm thinking. Tennessee gave a higher NIL offer. Why wouldn't lsu want a top 200 guy, especially at cb?

Maybe there are higher people on LSU’s db board that we are saving NIL funds for.
Matthew’s is fast as hell and has great size but his film leaves a lot to be desired. He’s a project with a lot of upside. Maybe he wanted to go to a place where he could get on the field right away instead of having to develop for 2-3 years.
Toviano, rodgers, and Thomas are all guys you who are going to get PT right away. Maybe Matthew’s ends up being better than all 3 but that’s not the reality at the present moment.

We have a few guys ranked ahead of him at his position. He will be a fine transfer portal add for someone in 2 years. He got paid at least.
