I’d say lecturing people as some wise elder sage on a sports message board is pretty pathetic too

I hope the idiots that are celebrating these young men’s failures are in their early 20s. Because being happy that they failed simply because they didn’t choose to play football at a school you root for is about as pathetic as it gets

While I agree on Carter. frick Womack. He pulled some serious bullshite on behalf of Bama that damaged LSU recruiting. I had forgotten about him until this thread, which is kind of the best outcome. Dude faded away.

Post wherever you choose. Just stop pretending to be an LSU fan..... And your board moniker does not make you an LSU fan, your allegiance does.

IDK

they have college degrees. They aren't going to end up in teh gutter. Their worst case scenario is high school football coach.

I don't have to cheer for them to be millionaires.

Its not like we're happy they got hit by a bus.

I'm talking about Shyheim not BAMA

Huh. Guess that 3-1 comment while Carter was at Bama didn’t allude to Bama’s record against LSU?

Seems like you were talking about BAMA after all.

I'm in my late 40's and I have to admit that I still get a little perverse satisfaction when a recruit drops us at the last minute for a rival (e.g. Womack) and goes on to have a mediocre career, sorry that's just me.

I guess you can take solace in your moral superiority over the rest of us.

So, you've got that going for you, which is nice.

Oh, there are far more pathetic things out there. But you should know this- and probably do. I hope.

The Womack shite seems like it was 10 years ago.

Womack screwed LSU and flipped to Bama and Shyheim Carter from Kentwood signed with Bama both go undrafted.

I think Carter was pretty open he was going out of state. He never committed to LSU, best I can remember. The Womack kid was the one who flipped and left LSU scrambling for an OL to replace him in the class. 2 different scenarios, in my view.

I'm going to try to make a reasonable post here (God help me).

I think people that know a kid like Shy Carter personally have every reason to be proud of his accomplishments and look for him to be successfull.

I also think that people who don't know him personally and who support a program that he spurned have some ground to not really care about his career at this point and maybe get a little schadenfreude from seeing him not be quite as successful at this stage as they believe he could have been had he played for their team.

Both have valid ground to stand on. Personal insults from either side are counterproductive and kind of a waste.

My personal opinion: I want every good recruit that LSU wants to also return that love and want LSU. For the ones that don't, I want LSU to rub their noses in it on the field. As far as life success goes, I'll never wish someone ill because they went to a different school. I hope Shyheim becomes a great success in football but more importantly in life. I hope he builds up the Kentwood community and paves a way forward for other kids to chase their dreams. So good luck, Shy. But also screw you for choosing Bama. ;)

So you love sports more than anything, but then say it’s just a sport. Shyheim level brain activity here

I have only this to say to in state prospects that turn down an LSU offer: I hope your post-college career does not entail any kind of business that depends on the loyalty of Louisiana customers. I have the same loyalty for you that you showed us when we wanted you.

Good question. I wish the best for them and I would be happy to be a customer of their's if they were in business post-college.

And your question also points to the tough circumstances in which a high school recruit might find himself. Through no fault of their own, they would not get to have a scholarship to the school they want most. I admire a young man that would have the fortitude to continue on to another program and make the best of their situation.
