Exactly. If he was really tired of it, he'd end it now.

I have a cousin in Houma who CLAIMS that LSU was at the top of his list before switching to 3-4 D but now they are a 4-3 D its a guarantee according to people around him.

Aranda and his 3-4 defense arrived in 2016.

Assuming Maason is currently 17-18 years old, he would have been 13-14 years old at the time.

I think this dude probably likes UGA and apparel toy his trainer is a UGA guy, but at the end of the day does UGA offer anything that the school just up the road doesn’t? Not at all... the relationships and proximity to home will win out

Fournette
Stingley

They weren’t considered freak athletes ?

Should we avoid recruiting freak athletes because Anthony Johnson didn’t live up to his insane hype?

I think it’ll be a LSU-Alabama battle, he’ll put USC in there to appease his buddy Foreman, if they play together it’ll b LSU, prolly going to b. LSU - Smith. USC - Foreman, these guys may say they want to play together and probably do, but when it gets nitty gritty time they’ll do what’s best for them plus family and friends. In Smith’s case big family.

I’m a tiny bit weary of UGA, just because of their incredible recruiting record. I heard in interviews he’s had to reschedule his UGA OV multiple times due to COVID. But at the end of the day, I’m thinking Tigers.

did you realize that 247 now has Maason as at 35 nationally. A 4* DT and the third DT in the country.
I guess have 100% LSU on the crystal ball is just terrible for your rating on 247!
He is apparently too big to be rated high. Only thing that counts are sacks according to one of their analyst.

Freak got screwed with some of the worst dl coaching we've ever had. Freak could have been great. even great talent needs coaching. MJ didn't become a champion until he got an elite coach.

Been researching this kid trying to learn more about him. Super fast-twitch, fast, but with OL body type. Beastly combo.

So he was supposed to be a Jr, but is going to graduate early? And STILL a top prospect... Amazing.

Who knows what will ultimately happen. But if there was EVER a kid in Orgeron's recruiting wheelhouse, this guy is it. An elite DL prospect from the south Louisiana bayou country. That is Orgeron's DREAM recruit!

This is a real freak. Not someone who is just matured faster than his high school counterparts.

#11 overall OT Tristan Leigh
#20 overall DT Maason Smith

So why is Smith a 5 star and Leigh only a 4 star?

Both are composite 5* players. Both are 247 4* rated players but 247 only has like 10 5* players right now.
