apparently they just landed Madina Okot, the big out of Miss St. as well…I hope her greed bites them in the butt because there was no reason for them to go after another big with what they already had
also, I saw that as well, but based on an insider, they said she wasn’t considering UCONN

At some point these kids are not going to want to just go there and sit on the bench.

for all the sec schools looking for a big, i think this one was probably the best get. serah williams--ive watched 5 of her games against big 10 teams--she's a project for sure! her team went 4-14 in conference play, and honestly i thought the other "bigs" on her team showed more skill and athleticism than her. she reminds me of dauda (not the arkansas version) when she plays. and the fact that she'll be a senior next year means no time for her to get adjusted to and learn mulkey/sec style of play.

I keep hearing that Johnson hasn't decided to for sure come back to LSU even though she has stated she isn't going into the draft. How likely is she to come back/go somewhere else? Is that uncertainty hurting us in the portal?

Her mom is asking for 7 figures… but doubtful another school gives them that

THIS!!!
we were trying to get latson and williams. if flaujae stays then of course you tell those girls they will have the opportunity to play with her and MK. now that latson and williams arent in the mix anymore, who's the say flaujae or MK will want to return? as it looks, that's a lot of team that those 2 will have to carry next year!

I see Janiah Barker is entering the portal again. lol

its baffling to me too, but when you think about it, they all probably have the same end goal--wnba. and dawn's ties to the professional game run very deep! she's got connections everywhere. and with the folks who run usa olympics too. that could be invaluable to most of these girls! brea beal got cut from her drafted team a couple years ago, hadnt played on anyone's team since, and then ended up getting a try out with the aces last year! hmmm....wonder how that happened?? so yeah, it could just be not wanting to rock the boat with someone that can help you in the future.
dawn also makes it known that she communicates with the parents just as much as she does with the players. how many of those parents are drinking the kool-aid and telling their kids to stay put? i certainly think this is the case with fulwiley! if really feels like she wants to go, but mama probably telling her no.

janiah barker probably headed to ole miss.
is coach yo using her own money to pay these kids?? mcmahon was asking $300k minimum. i thought $300k might be their entire NIL budget for wbb out in oxford

Respectfully. sure, Dawn has deep connections in the pro game and with USA Basketball—but so do many elite coaches. Geno and Kim have had strong ties to USA Basketball and WNBA franchises. That’s not unique. What sets Dawn apart isn’t just her résumé—it’s her alignment with powerful media and advocacy groups like LMNOP, which have significantly elevated her public platform.
From a coaching standpoint, her schemes are relatively simple. She’s not known for innovative X’s and O’s or in-game adjustments. Her success is heavily reliant on overwhelming talent—South Carolina consistently brings in top-5 recruiting classes, often filled with multiple 5-star prospects. When you look at their offensive metrics, they’re often middle-of-the-pack in efficiency and pace compared to other top programs, but their physical dominance(bully ball) and depth compensate.
It begs the question: is she building a system, or just stacking the deck? Without that constant influx of elite talent—and without the strategic advantages granted by her media and organizational connections—her success might not be as sustainable. The perception of dominance is reinforced by her access to talent pipelines, not necessarily coaching innovation.

South Carolina's roster is still very stacked. Dawn does not need to do much in the transfer portal but I agree with others is she trying the ole Bear Bryant strategy and just signing talent to keep them away from other schools. Dauda going there and just sitting the bench the whole year was strange. You dont see that very much.
Also South Carolina was not as good this year because they dont have an elite dominant big. Dawn's system relies heavily on this.

When did we lose Williams. Did she decide elsewhere, yet

Lots of smoke with Serah with UCONN right now

None of this is accurate outside of Latson not coming and frankly Flau’Jae is expected to be back so it’s not really a necessity with her and MK at the wing and lsu having 3 five star guard/wing players
They need to add a potential PG and another big. And lsu is very much in the mix with Williams

Being she is from New York , probably where she ends up.
Maybe Cunningham could be a possibility, not a lot of quality bigs in the portal it seems .
Would hate to go into next season with only Koval and Jersey as your 5’s

357, I have read couple places that Williams is down to 3 teams: LSU, Uconn and UNC. Are you hearing this too? Have you heard if she is coming to LSU for visit soon? Feel pretty good if she comes for a visit. Kim needs to go all out like she did for Angel and Aneesah. Also, what PG is Kim pursuing now since Latson is off the board?

she apparently just scheduled a visit to UCONN today.
it’s definitely not a sure thing either way, just gotta hope that her previous connection with MK and the $$$ brings her to BR

maybe they should look into montague out of mississippi state
she portaled today. she was their 2nd option behind okot. i watched her play against lsu again (and some other games).... she could be a sleeper pick!
looks like she was in a 3-man rotation at state. she's a sophomore, 6'5, got a big body, but she moves VERY well. she had at least 1 block in all the games i watched, and she has good hands!! when gilbert and flaujae penetrate and then look to dump the ball off to jersey or ADR--dropped pass. this girl... nope, not gonna have that problem. she just didnt get very many minutes at state.
