I have a really good feeling about Kate Koval. I watched her game against Texas. Her defense was great, she ended the game with 5 blocks and Texas only scored 4 points in the paint in the first half. She was a major reason why ND won that game. Her offense suffered against tall bigs like Sedona Prince and Kyla Oldacre, but from what I saw in the game against Texas she mostly shot jump shots and never got the ball when she had great positioning on the block.

In the first 11 games, while Maddy Westfield was out for an injury, Kate Koval averaged 28.2mins 8.2ppg 7.9rbs 3.4blks 43fg%. This was against teams like USC, Texas, UConn, TCU, Utah, and Virginia.

I saw her play when they came here to Los Angeles to play USC. For a freshman post, I thought her game was fine. Certainly a player with a lot of potential and can help us over the next three seasons. I have faith in Mulkey's ability to develop young post players. We'll be fine with her.

I don’t like how under wraps everything has been with Serah Williams. from what I’ve seen online and those who I’ve reached out to, no one seems to know who she’s been showing interest in/going on visits with.

if anyone has any intel, I’d love to know as I think she is probably the best current pickup in the portal now after todays commitments

Well, she's not really obligated to let anyone know any inside information.

I'm sure when she's ready something will be announced. I will say this though................................if we're able to insert Koval as our center and Williams as our starting power forward, we will be back in the final four next season. Book it!

It would be great to get her , wherever she goes I’m sure it’ll be one of the top programs.

So ESPN has Serah Williams listed as 6’2. That can’t be right.

Whether she's 6'2", 6'3", or 6'4" won't matter if she's playing power forward next to Koval. We need someone in that position who can rebound, play defense, and maybe give us 10-12 ppg.

lol I know no one is obligated to share inside information, especially her herself, but nowadays, it’s rare for anything to really keep things super under wraps…like how right after Miles entered the portal, it was immediately out there she was headed to TCU

I’m just saying I’m surprised there hasn’t been much coverage on her recruitment

It’s been very quiet , last year we heard rumblings about portal visits , haven’t heard anything this year except Koval was in contact with LSU and she commented shortly after that

i believe so...which prohibits on campus or in person visits, but phone calls can still happen.

also, although info does seem to be leaking fast and furious this year and some big portal commitments have already dropped, i remember in the last couple of years, we heard about lsu commitments towards the end of april. and if i remember correctly, aneesah morrow's commitment was announced in early may. so, hoping lsu likes to save some of the best news for last!

update: apparently Serah Williams is taking/has already taken visits to LSU, USC, SC & Texas and will decide between these 4.

I don’t see how she ends up with Dawn @ SC as Dawn is already pretty loaded with bigs and has another one coming in. also Dawn is trying to get Kneepkens, the SG out of Utah, so if she’s targeting her as well, don’t know how much more NIL money they will have going around for another big, especially after snagging Latson.

USC is apparently interested in Sa’Myah Smith, so hoping they target her instead of Williams. Also with Juju out next year and 2/3 star freshmen transferring out, they are expected to take a big dip this upcoming season.

I think it could really come down to us & Texas and who offers her more. Texas is looking to replace Jones and doesn’t have a big freshman coming in so I’m sure they are going to offer her good money.

I think if she wants the most playing time, a well rounded team who can have a shot at the title with her impact and the best NIL school, she chooses LSU.

Would not want to see her at Carolina , she is a great shooter.

The real question is: where does she actually add value at South Carolina? The same could be asked about Sarah. With Tessa already in the mix, it's hard to see a clear role. Once Watkins returns, Williams' minutes will likely be minimal. It raises a bigger issue—either Dawn is recruiting strategically to block competitors from gaining talent, or she doesn’t have full confidence in the development of her current roster. It’s starting to look less like building for balance and more like hoarding talent without a clear plan for rotation or growth

LSU backed off from her. Kim didn’t want someone 6 foot at the 4

i said the same last year when they got dauda. look at her stats now. i am all for sacrificing self for team, but there has to be some sort of balance. latson coming highly affects tessa johnson who has been waiting for a starting spot. her boyfriend is in the portal coming out of sc...maybe she will do the same. and yes, watkins returning will already cut into joyce edwards and dauda's playing time and that's not even considering a new post (kitt's little sister, williams, etc.)

As roster stands at this moment…

Kate
Jersey
MK
Flau’jae
Jada

Knox
Z. Johnson
Bella
Mjracle
KG

Maybe a sweet 16 roster at best unless the freshman grow up fast
