Dawn definitely negative recruits against Kim. Heard stories a couple of years ago about that.

Seems more likely than not if SC gets the visit after LSU they’re going to get the recruit. We also thought we had Jerzy last year before she went on the SC visit.

We were able to get Reese and Morrow out of the portal because we got them to cancel their SC visits after visiting us.

Sucks to lose GG to them. She seemed close to Kim and Flau’jae

The sad thing is if this is true, playing this game with young female athletes who are just kids are subject to this type of coach who should be a role model not someone who manipulates them into committing to their school. Be professional. Let these kids make a decision on their own without bashing another school. If the recruit love your school then they will love playing for you because there was something about your school that fit them better. I don't like this playing with these kids minds to sway their decision.

Being loaded gives you a great chance to win but doesn’t mean you will. Dawn has proven that more than any other coach.

Of course not but it gets you to the Final Four just about every year.

A loaded roster is one thing. Pair it with a competitive regular season, and you earn a more favorable tournament path…better matchups, home-court advantage, and fewer obstacles between you and the Final Four. Go look at the last 5 years of brackets.

Listen, I've been a fan of the program since the days of Elaine Powell and Pietra Gay. I've been a season ticket holder on many seasons. I think I have a pretty good perspective on the program and seen lots of this recruiting stuff.

I think something we as a fan base need to understand....................................Outside of Louisiana, Kim is not that well-liked. Much of it has to do with her past relationships with certain players (Emily Neiman, Brittney Griner), much of it has to do with statements she's made over the years, and some of it has to do with her demeanor on the court. As a result, there's a lot to use to negatively recruit against her. Not sure how we overcome that. When we hired Kim, I told people that South Carolina's dominance of the SEC was over. Sadly I've been mistaken. Save for the year we won the NCAA, we've not been able to defeat SC even ONCE..................and now that Texas is in the league, we don't seem to be able to finish any higher than third in the league.

Looking at the latest in recruiting................not being able to get Jerzy Robinson.............losing Bella and Jada Richard (I STILL don't understand those transfers).................now, if true, not being able to get GG, Kaleena, OR Maddy............and we still don't know what's gonna happen with Zaniya. Not only is it not looking good, in terms of being a final four contender (we'll still be a good program), but it also means we'll have to rely on the transfer portal for guards for a couple of years. This is NOT good folks. I hope I'm off base with this, but I'm just going by the trend I'm seeing.

Lastly, we can't get mad at Dawn if she has negatively recruited against Kim. Quite frankly, she doesn't have to. Kim has never beaten her once while at LSU, Dawn has a GREAT relationship with all her former players, and they are a perennial final four program. I'm not so sure if Dawn really needs to negatively recruit. That's really just hearsay. But I don't think that's enough to turn all these young people against Kim. I think these young..............primarily Black..........women, see Dawn in a much more favorable light than Kim. Most importantly, I believe their PARENTS see Dawn in that way, and that's gonna be tough for us to overcome.

Just my honest opinion as a long time fan of the program.

I'll reserve judgment until all are signed. If Kim can pull Manyacka and/or Samuels and Zaniyah Johnson, this will have been an extremely successful recruiting year, even without GG. In that case I would trust that Kim can grab point guards in the portal until the next GG comes around.

She’s 64 it really depends on if she can get the talent or not but you’re not wrong she isn’t well perceived even if what people say is sincerely true or not

The BG saga was more of a university thing than anything but optics matter

Bella left because her dad wanted to bag chase and potentially start. Jada was all money. She is paid twice as much at ole Miss than she was at lsu.

In the end it’s a money game in most sports now. Talent will go where the money is mostly

Qandace Samuel’s top 10 recruit arrived to campus last night and is on her official visits

Teams LSU will have to fend off for her services includes VT, Rutgers, Texas, and maybe Vandy

Look at South Carolina's out-of-conference schedule this year. This has to be appealing. All of them are ranked with top star players for huge prime time TV matchups:

#21 Maryland
#9 North Carolina
#5 Southern California
#13 UCLA
#2 UCONN
#3 Duke
#22 Oklahoma State
#16 Notre Dame

How much of the "misses" this year would you attribute to losing Redus, if any?

I don't know how his first signing class is looking, but do know he's been able to get highly ranked kids at least to visit, in his first year.

Well if money is the answer then LSU need to compete. The football team and men's basketball are now competing. Allow these women to compete too. Weird they couldn't fight harder to keep Jada and Bella. Praying for something good to happen. I'd settle for one more commit. It doesn't matter which out of the 3 left.

Well, I guess it is what it is. I ain't gonna lie..............................Jada leaving was a COMPLETE shock to me. This is somebody from Lafayette, who was literally about to be the starting pg for three years straight.

LSU missed on plenty of recruits even with Redus. Only one I would say affected was Ashley Macalla but the Koval situation allegedly played a role

Jada was chasing a bag 100%. She actually lied to mulkey, told her she was back then left two weeks later.

And it’s really a shame because mulkey identified her at an early age and invested in her when no other top programs would because she didn’t play for one of the big AAU teams/circuits, and jada develops significantly at lsu. No one has loyalty anymore

IMO, LSU thought they were asking for more than they were worth. TCU and Ole Miss overpaid.

Why would the Koval situation affect McCalla? Isn't McCalla close to GG? Could that have played a role?

It seemed to me that Jada wanted to shoot more than she did at LSU even though she was a point guard. I remember at the end when she ignored Mikayla who was open with the game on the line and took the shot herself.
