Flau’jae doesn’t have the stroke in landing recruits to LSU many of you think she has.

Kim had shown that she isn't going to get into a bidding war over anyone. Same with Samyah Smith. Kim's "don't let the door hit your arse on the way out if you don't want to be here" policy is refreshing.

The new Jada is much better than the old Jada.

I'm realizing not to expect a recruit to commit to a school just because certain former players are recruiting them there. Most people got caught up with the Flaujae and GG relationship they automatically thought GG would commit to LSU. To me it doesn't matter what a player thinks about a school until they actually commit then it's just words.

Crazy we spend all of these resources with all of these 5* visits and come away with only Bradley.

Maybe LSU should start focusing more on 4 star players and develop them. Seems like every 5 star player LSU recruits SC is recruiting the same players.

Looking like the class of 27 will have to be portal heavy .

if it's just Bradley this year, coupled w/just Lampley last year, yeah it's portal heavy in 27. maybe they can go overseas again to help supplement, sort of like this year.

Any feedback on the Samuels visit yet?

Obviously there is a lot left to play out and I am not the most privy to the landscape, but I am starting to wish Kim dug deeper to add an elite recruiter to the staff. Perhaps the new assistants will be stronger on the developmental side, something I felt we’ve lacked a little at times.

I’m not worried about Kim ever putting a winner on the court, but I’d hate to see her final stretch as a coach being an annual Sweet 16 team. You would think these girls would be tired of riding the pine at South Carolina, Texas, UConn, etc. really feels like they have a monopoly on the recruiting trail

Let me ask but the teams who seem to be heaviest in the mix for Samuels is LSU, VT, Rutgers. Texas is there but heard they exactly at the top of the list but that can change with money

Samuels was #3 in all AAU in scoring, she is a crafty 6’2 wing who can score at all 3 levels and she is efficient. If they can find a way to get her to go with Caroline that’s two top 10 players. She would start day 1 IMO

In the end quality matters. Like Madi Mignery would have been a good add but she would been a depth piece. In order to contend for final fours you need high level players that’s why you see all the top programs gunning for the same 20 kids yearly

Anthony Fitzroy brought in lots of top 50 players to a mid Miami program. He is known in the basketball world as one of the most respectable assistants from a recruiting AND developmental coaches. They tried to get coach Gabe but he left. Unfortunately even if stayed it was likely only gonna be for a year as he had been wanting to be a HC for a while and as gotten lots of offers

Page is solid, not sure I would say she is an elite recruiter but she definitely a step up from Daphne Mitchell tbh who really didn’t do a whole lot. Page was a former WNBA post player and has experience coaching Canadian international team works with post players so it’s nice to me having some more help with post player development. I think some of LSUs post issues are more recruiting related but I’m interested to see how they look this year. I heard grace Knox has made a big jump

Nice to hear Fitzroy is a top hire. Just trying to diagnose our Brick Haley run of second place finishes for top recruits

She's better......................................how MUCH better remains to be seen. She was definitely a higher ranked recruit, but I'm not sure how much that matters now that they're both upperclassmen.

This was going on even with Gary

I think some of it is negative PR Kim has and a lot of these HS kids parents are super involved and we know LSU gets negative recruited. That’s why you see lsu consistently land more top portal players where it’s usually the player making these decisions more independently tbh

Just my take.

If there is one thing I think LSU should do is prob cast a little wider net. They sometimes seem to focus on such a small group and some of those recruitments are difficult to pull off from the start so having some flexibility would be ideal.

Exactly what I think too. Maybe consider more 3 or 4 star players but also throw in some 5 stars too and just plan on development. They have the coaching team to do it. All the 5 stars are going to SC, UCONN, Texas...etc.

Given our youth and possible use of the 5 for 5 rule, we might have Johnson and Knox for 3 or four more years. We could have Lampley and Minaeva for 4 or 5 years, and Bradley is on the way. Because she is only 5'6", Williams might stay for NIL. I would not panic.
