We sure he's 2020? He's a 5 star on Sailors kicking camp but can't find him on 247 at all

Chris Sailer has his own rating system for kickers and punters:
5* = Division 1 prospect
4* = Division 2 prospect
3* = Division 3 prospect

It’s not a 5 start from 247, just the grading scale for hat site. 5 star means he is a legit D1 prospect. FWIW, the site list him as a 2020 grad.

Guess we starting to see where this possible last spot may go, and if this kid is legit, im on board, having good kickers/punters are a very good for a program

I'm guessing if we have a spot open, we sign him. Not a bad option. A kicker with that range is always worth a scholly.

Based on the linked profile. Not sure how the recruiting services do it, but here is their analysis:

FWIW Sailer has Mata ranked as the number 51 kicker in 2020 and the number 41 punter...

Mandeville kicker for 2021 is ranked way higher as a kicker than that. Like top 12

Give Orgeron and McMahon credit. They have been able to find some really solid kickers in recent years. We went from having kickoff guys who couldn't hit the endzone if their life depended on it (though some may have been by design) to a guy who rarely fails to get a touchback.
In 2018 our kicker was probably in the top 3 for team MVP. And this year we had a true freshman who made some really clutch kicks.
