These are the guys that I recall reading about having interest in LSU along with their 247 composite California ranking:
1. Justin Flowe
2. DJ Ugaleilei
3. Elias Ricks (committed)
4. Kendall Milton
7. Jermaine Burton (likely?)
18. Jaden Navarrette (committed)
37. Jordan Berry (committed)

How many, especially in the top 10, can we land before others get suspicious given the current climate?

As long as there aren’t any audio recordings I think we are good.

Getting him would be the biggest pull in possibly a decade, being from Cali and all.

I'm not saying LSU isn't doing anything..."improper"...because every power conf. football program are doing the same thing, but this would be a little different than basketball. LSU has been one of the best programs in terms of recruiting for nearly two decades. Signing a top tier class is not anything new. Certainly, getting multiple guys from California would be different, but this staff has CA ties (Orgeron, Bush, Robinson, hell, even Aranda). Couple that with uncertainty at USC and you can see why CA guys might be looking elsewhere.

Out of state commitments are always worrisome until they sign. OOS commitments from a place as far away as CA are even moreso. But I think what you are seeing is years of laying the groundwork in the area starting to potentially bear some fruit. Relationships in recruiting are built over several years, not just a kid's senior season.

If there was audio of Coach O, there's a good chance that a jury wouldn't understand it.
