Dont know much about him, but the other schools in his top 5 give me some thinking that he would be a good pick up.

Big guard (6'4, 200) who can handle the ball, not turn it over much, shoot some 3's and score pretty well

Checks all boxes for me

Based upon information for what is currently listed on this thread, LSU is at 13 scholarships for 2023-2024. That has caused some to question how it would be possible to accommodate a scholarship for Zyon Pullin without someone leaving. While there does not appear to be any clarification on this situation at this point it should be noted under ESPN's "comings and goings" that Trae Hannibal is listed under "players not returning or expected to return."

This would fit since McMahon has been strategically looking to improve the team and Hannibal is very limited shooting from the perimeter. The presence of Cook, Stewart, and Wright would likely squeeze Hannibal out of minutes since his defender can play off of him and help clog the lane. While his defensive intensity and hard-nosed style of play has a place somewhere, it doesn't appear that he would have a significant role on this year's team. Zyon Pullin, on the other hand, is a 6-4 guard who can be highly effective in the mid-range and shoots well from 3-point range as well as being an effective playmaker. Potentially, Pullin could play in smaller lineups with Cook and Stewart or off the ball. It appears really odd that LSU would continue recruiting if all the scholarships were filled so believe that Pullin may actually be in play for LSU to add. If so, that would be a great get! Timing is everything in releasing news so we may not hear an announcement until Pullin or another player is added but the decision may have already been made for Hannibal to depart.

I know absolutely nothing about this guy but we could use all the talent that we could get.

Zion Pullin is a 4 year player for UC-Riverside of the Big West Conference who is using his COVID year for the transfer. His numbers have improved with each successive season and he averaged 18.3 ppg, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game on 48.6% shooting, and 39.4% from 3-point range (on a low number of attempts). He also shot about 77% on free throws. He scores quite a bit on ball screens and is a mid-range monster with a wide-variety of moves to create separation for jump shots, runners, and one-legged shots. He is a bigger guard with a low turnover rate for someone who had the ball in his hands as much as he did. He can also play off the ball so would provide a secondary ballhandler in lineups with Cook. ESPN lists him at 6'4" and 195 pounds so big enough to guard most guards and probably some small forwards meaning that LSU could go small with Cook, Stewart, and Pullin in small lineups which would open up the lane and be very difficult to defend.

This would be a nice pull. I honestly think our basketball team could be pretty decent if we could get this one done. Would like to see us grab more high school talent for the long run. But CMM needs to have a decent season now with how last year finished.

UC Riverside transfer Zyon Pullin is down to Florida and LSU, sources told ESPN. Just visited both schools. First-team All-Big West guard averaged 18.3 points last season. Top-five available player in the portal.
