For my 5000th post: A newer feature on 247's recruiting team rankings is "overall" which combines high school and transfer commits.

Current overall rankings are:
1. A&M
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Ohio State
5. Texas
6. Penn State
7. Notre Dame
8. Oklahoma
9. North Carolina
10. LSU

TL;DR: we comin'

Just need to clean up next year with in-state high school kids and we are back baby.

This transition, from a talent perspective, looks 1000x better than I thought it was going to just a month ago.

How does ND get ranked #7 if our current coach felt he could not compete due to overall talent? I feel there is something else that happened at ND to be honest .

1. You’re severely oversimplifying the argument about why BK can have more success at LSU.
2. He’s salvaging a recruiting class that had fallen apart before he was hired. This was always going to be a down year for us with the coaching change.

ND also doesn't consistently get top 10 classes. It was a good year for them but they usually are in top 12-15ish with a top 5-7 finish thrown occasionally. Compare that to LSU that usually competes for top 5 finishes yearly. It makes a big difference to depth.

This. And their most highly rated guys are not frequently skill guys like LSU.
