How high are the chances that we could flip some walk ons as beam specialists to gain more depth on beam? I think Whitney Bjerken could be a good choice for beam.

Just making an observation. If you Google “LSU Gymnastics Recruiting”, this thread comes up. Don’t want us to appear so negative to potential recruits. Not saying they’ll read it but you never know.

I am in agreement - I think the gymnastics community on here is limited to about 15 active commentators, more or less, so think we should keep it as one.
I don’t know that a recruit would look through all the pages, and if they do…well, that just is what it is, I think, in the current age of the internet.

There's an interesting conversation on Reddit Gymnastics concerning Jay and why he does not use AJ on other events besides bars. They question why half the LSU roster never competes. We certainly aren't alone in our thoughts about this subject.

At least on this thread, can we please stop referring to Alexis as AJ? I get that it may be easier than typing out her entire name but from the perspective of someone who is super active on social media, it almost makes us look as bad as the rest of the people on Twitter and Instagram who are still tweeting, commenting, and posting hateful things about her and gives the gymternet the opportunity to group us in with them

I browsed it a bit, surprisingly they were actually complimentary to her as a gymnast and questioned the use of depth across the board.
Many believed if Kiya didn't get injured, Brock's 1.5 vault never would have seen the light of day in the lineups right now.

Yes, they were complimentary to her as a gymnast! One has to wonder who else would be a surprise performer if given the chance to be in a lineup.

At this point there are 19 girls on the roster. 6 are unable to compete. Leaving 13, 2 are Sr.Walkons 1 Fr, 10 Competed last meet. So out of 13 available 10 competed

I would love to see Aleah get some rest this week on vault and floor. Could put tori or Alexis in on vault and Elena on floor

Seriously, at this point what do we have to lose? I like our chances in post season better if we can get more girls in events now instead of overusing our most productive girls.

I feel that is a double-edged sword, unfortunately. We have to improve our scores as much as possible to get us into a better position for post-season ceding, so it’s important to capitalize on a potentially favorable environment. I know there is a lot of season left, etc., etc. - but with the lack of consistency of this team I think we don’t really have the luxury that other teams do. Like we have one score that is probably truly competitive in the post season right now - that’s it.

Well we are top 3 right now in the SEC with a lot of other teams nipping at our heels. A huge goal for the season is to stay in the top 4 to be in the evening session for SEC's.

I’m not saying throw in the towel on this season. I just meant I’m more worried about losing an unrested Haleigh or Aleah than I am about seeing some new faces out there. Or some people used in bigger roles than they are presently. It killed me to hear in that video that Kiya was possibly not even going on floor the night she got hurt. If only.

Well as someone who has Aleah on her fantasy team, I say no, Lol, but as an lsu fan I say yes. May even hayleigh too. But since we’re going against ga I don’t think Jay will do this.

Oh I think its not a bad thought. I was just saying like the other poster, LSU can not afford to do that because being in the SEC evening session is very important.
