You seem to think these kids are just making these decisions alone after being prayed upon by agents and schools. No state lets a minor enter into a contract unless there is parental consent (and yes I know this doesn’t amount to much in many cases where moma/daddy want the money too)
Exactly my point...You think even 50% of these situations, the parents or legal guardians are equipped with the experience and knowledge to navigate these situations responsibly and not get taking advantage of?

It doesn’t matter what I think. It matters what’s legal. Parents been able to co-sign contracts for kids for as long as there have been age restrictions on entering contracts. Adults for that matter are often times idiots and still able to enter into contracts, hence a 18/19 year old taking out 250k in student loans for a degree in gender studies and then bitch when they realize they’ll never be able to pay it back. Myself and most people would tell that 19 year old tough shite you entered into the contract now you’re responsible for it.
You’re not going make me feel sorry for a 16 year old getting paid millions cause he’s good at football.

I don't feel sorry for anyone either and I support them and the opportunity to capitalize on their abilities but there needs to be guardrails in place to limit the exploitation. Allowing colleges to sign high school athletes to contractual NIL deals prior to enrollment or even signing with the actual school is only creating a ton of future legalities.

You'll have to show me where Texas Tech wasn't just sucking everyone off in the Texas court system to try and get him cleared to play. Yall are the absolute last fan base to come in here preaching about taking the moral high road and doing whats best for anyone. It took your states dumb arse attorney general sticking his head up his arse, threatening lawsuits to get TT to do the right thing. I hope Sorsby is taking that five million he stole from Oil boy and betting 2 mil of it on yall going 8-4 this year.
Jesus Christ what a melt, you Louisiana trash are delusional. Tech is going to finish with a better record than LSU this year

Nija, please.

Tech literally plays nobody so they probably will. How many top 20 teams will you face? Maybe one. Then get embarrassed again in the playoffs because you aren’t tested and shite the bed. Oregon is still waiting for you to score a point. LSU has 3 recent nattys and the best college team ever

You seem a lot more worried about this than I do.

Well that’s not saying much since they play in the Little 12…

The things that I’d do to you if I ever found out who you are. You just might be the worst person that has ever exited in the herstory of humanity.

The fact that you are on another team's recruiting page makes this statement false.

Who is your Qb for this year?
Posted on 6/30/26 at 8:20 am to GhostofAlfredBlue
Prolly some 2 star scrub because they blow their loads on a handful of players to try and stay relevant then end up a paper tiger and shite the bed against real competition.

Why are you even arguing this topic? We all know it's pay to play. It's legal in Louisiana to sign a high school kid to an NIL deal and Gordon McKernan has said and done as much.
I don't know if his deals are tied to LSU, but Gordon has specifically talked about this stuff with Jordy Culotta.
Also, I wouldn't call paying a young man and his family hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars to play football exploitation. What they were doing before NIL was exploitation.
If LSU wants him, then they have to deal with contract that he legally signed and agreed to. Seems pretty clear cut to me.

Brand matters. Texas Tech has never won anything, and will never win anything. The last meaningful football these current high school juniors and seniors saw before COVID was the uber-dominant 2019 National Champs as young kids. Add in the Kiffin factor and it's no surprise that a lot of talents are interested.
They just had a dlineman go in the top 10 in the nfl draft so

Yeah Indiana and TT have shown that brand doesn't matter like it use to.

Do they give tours of that tortilla factory? Asking for an amigo

What happens when Ed O gets offered a legit DL coaching position at a major program? Could he get a HC position at a smaller program?
He's still the former LSU head football coach with a natty and the greatest team ever.
If LSU goes deep into the playoff, I think they could realistically lose Baker and O. **** happens quick in college football.

What happens when a kid from Mississippi gets a offer from Southern Miss as a up and coming sophomore kid and he signs a 200k a year deal his high school sophomore season because he has only offers from Centeral Arkansas, New Mexico st. Etc. but in the fine print he has a 1 million dollar buy out. Kid blows up his senior season and is getting offers for 600k a year from Florida, Auburn and Ole Miss but he's stuck with Southern Miss. While they will commit 2.4 to a kid they aren't going to comitt 3.4 to a kid to buy him out and he's stuck. In the case with Brewster, there's allegations of land and houses and including money. Thats extremely complicated and being used as leverage against him at this point to keep him at Texas Tech and he can't even legally play there yet. Thats exploitation. I wouldn't want LSU doing that either. There has to be guardrails with this stuff or its going to snow ball out of control even more.
