The school forced him to pull a knife on a coach?

When making one possibly career ending decision just isn’t enough…

Sad if true. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree it seems. Kid has a gift but clearly had garbage parents doing this. Take responsibility and go to juco. Kid is throwing it all away

Rumor?
Innuendo?
Might be prudent to wait to see if a petition is filed.

Same. That's why I haven't taken him off the list.
As I said yesterday in the Rant thread started by this same poster: Only a few people truly know his status with LSU, and none of the post here.

If I had to guess there was a talk between him and Jay and it probably went something like you can stay "committed" publicly here but you arent welcome here. Use us for leverage in the draft if you want but you have to find another home after high school is over. Speaks to probably why he is willing to sign for just about whatever from the sounds of it to start pro ball.

What's his dad's name? I'll look it up on the clerk's site.
*ETA: I see a "Petition for Judicial Review" filed on 2/20/24
*ETA: trial is set for 3/14, which is going to be difficult b/c that judge just sat a jury for a civil case yesterday

That’s the most lawyer bullshite I’ve ever read.

He has been given everything he wants since he was 11 years old. The strength coach told him the truth he wasn't going to baby him like the rest of the staff and kiss his rearend then the knife got pulled. I am very surprised he is not playing. Barbe likes to win and some will do anything to win.

The strength guy was never approved through the proper channels/paperwork to be part of the program.

That is some really terrible lawyer speak right there.
Reminds me of a civil case I was a juror on a while back.
Guy was suing another guy (really his "business", because that's where the money was) for rear ending him on the interstate. He had "just started doing" a logistics/delivery 3rd party business he started and was doing that for 6 months before the accident took place. He could barely walk, was wearing a neck brace, etc (this guy was in his 30s or so)...at the court date. This was well over 2 years since the incident occured (not his fault it did take this long, covid backup basically).
He was suing for $125k I believe it was, the business because the owner of the company rear ended him in a company landscaping truck. The owner of the business spoke basically no english BTW, so there was an interpreter through all this. Both lawyers for the plantiff and defendant were pretty damn terrible. In fact the defendant lawyer I saw afterwards was driving a 20-25 year old Nissan Sentra I believe
The business owner was more than willing to pay for medical bills and damage to vehicle, but the plantiff wanted a lot more (Again, probably after finding out the guy had a pretty successful landscaping business).
So here goes the evidence presented by plantiff:
- Shows pictures of accident, this literally looked like a fender bender <25 mph. I mean it was a truck hitting a cargo van and basically a new front bumper and rear bumper is all that was needed, maybe 1 new door on the cargo van. It was clearly very low impact. Seems fishy this guy over 2 years later is basically a cripple from this, he said he played basketball daily before this all and cant anymore, etc...
- Didnt provide 1 thing showing income or a tax return from this supposed delivery business he was doing for 6 months, so we had no way to know what the financial loss was from that of not being able to do that work any more
- He had 1 medical document, which wasnt a bill at all, which was basically just prescription for a pain pill and showing he had some back/neck pain...I mean anyone can coax that out of a doctor easily...NO other medical bills but claimed he went to hospital a few times and specialist maybe a half dozen times, zero documentation or bills from any of that
As you might guess, we the jury ruled against the plaintiff. After the day was over, I got to talk with the defendant's lawyer and he said they were willing to settle for $25k with the plaintiff but they turned it down just the previous week. They plaintiff wanted the $125k. I could not stop laughing, some people are just so stupid

Without getting into too much legalese, the gist of the suit isn't even about the incident. They're claiming the expulsion process did not satisfy the due process requirements afforded the plaintiff.
I just figured y'all would get a kick out of the wording.
