Yea those same people who seem to take more joy in being right even if it means LSU is struggling are pretty sad.
There are very few people who actually feel that way. Most just don’t have the blind bias that makes them believe a turd is actually gold. Just like the poster below said, a bunch of people ate crow with O and were happy to do so until he ran the program into the ground. McMohan just led us to one of the worst seasons in decades. People will happily admit they were wrong if he turns it around. Until then, there is no reason to be confident he will.

And there is no reason to continually start threads ridiculing him, mocking his name, and shitting on him but people do it bc it’s their chance to “be right”
It’s pathetic. Some even saying they’ll root for Mcneese if we play them lol

Any interest in Isaiah Howard out of Port Allen? 6'3" PG, MVP in the State All Star Game.

How about those on here who defend the horrible coaching job that McMahon did. They blame the prior coach for all the faults of the current coach. McMahon is not in the top half of the SEC in regard to coaching talent, unfortunately.

I don’t follow BB recruiting much, that being said I have a shocking to me question. Am I.seeing this correctly? We have only two recruits signed out of high school? Eeeh not good.

Mackenzie Mgbako, #7 prospect and a 6'9 stretch 4 asked for his release from Duke and re-opening his recruitment to all schools. LSU did offer him in the past and likely a pipe dream as he is a blue blood candidate, but he would fill a hole and playing opportunity considering no help in the front court so far has come via portal.

I was just coming to post this. Would be a sneaky good pickup, and he had LSU on his list. We also have that Roselle Catholic connection with Naz Reid.

The scouting report on Mike Williams, seems like a pretty good pickup. Don't see him being an immediate impact, but expect to see him develop into a multi year starter.
"Williams made a big impression in Atlanta as he has clearly taken his game to the next level. While he may not yet be a pure point guard, he has developed his skill-set, turned into a versatile combo-guard, and vastly improved as a shooter. One of his best attributes has always been his ability to defend, and he has maintained that. He has also historically been a very good mid-range pull-up shooter, but now he is getting the same elevation and clean release from behind the three-point line. Williams is also able to get downhill very well in the open floor and finish through contact. Overall, he has developed himself into a versatile two-way guard with good positional size who impacts the game both in half-court and open-court situations."

McMahon is looking hard at the portal to fill his remaining two spots. Another option for the big to help up front with Fountain, Reed, Baker, and Chest could be Brandon Gardner from the 2023 class. He is an ESPN Top 100 (currently #81) and is a 6'7" 210 lb. forward out of Christ the King HS in New York. LSU was in his final four and he has visited. Offered first by Wade but then reoffered by McMahon. Originally committed to St. John's but asked out of his NLI about a month ago after meeting with Rick Pitino. Really good athlete, can play on the perimeter, but rugged rebounder and thrives in the paint. Can find little news on his recruitment after decommitting from St. John's. Would love to add Moussa Cisse, Aziz Bandaogo, Grant Nelson, Isaac Jones, or Daimion Collins out of the portal but Gardner could likely help as well.

Which one of those options is realistic?
Posted on 5/5/23 at 10:11 pm to LSUFan2700
McMahon does need to focus on players that he thinks he can sell on coming to LSU. His staff will know these players better than those of us on the board. However we need to strike a balance between "realistic" and "ambitious." We need to shoot for those players that we think will fit for the program and make the team better and not settle for someone just because we think we can get them. The pitch to each player will be different but there is a definite need for another player to rebound, defend, score and have versatility to play in more than one position. Minutes are available. For someone like Cisse there is a chance to play more than 22 minutes per game (his average last year), for Collins and Lance Ware (just entered portal from Kentucky) there are minutes and a chance to face their former team, while for mid-major players like Nelson, Bandaogo, and Isaac Jones will have the chance to show their skills against a higher level of competition. McMahon will undoubtedly be able to speak to the four transfers that have already joined who are ranked in the top 100 according to On3 (Wright, Baker, Stewart, and Cook) who all played on successful teams either at a mid-major or the SEC for Vanderbilt (Wright) and averaged in double figures as a sign that the team will be improved. McMahon will sell the culture he and the staff wish to create and how he will help develop players. This was cited as a selling point by Baker in his decision. Current NBA players Ja Morant and Cameron Payne are examples of this process and KJ was an unknown as well before joining him at Murray State. We know that he has offered Gardner and know he has reached out to Nelson and Cisse but don't know about some of the others who have not shared as much information about their recruitment. The portal has also not closed and there are quality players entering every day so must continue to monitor and look at options.

4* PG Curtis Givens has us in his final 7 schools
He has not taken OV anywhere yet. Also fielded offers from Syracuse, Xavier, Wake, TX AM, Mizzou, and Miss St to name a few. Says one of the biggest things he's looking for is a coach that gives him the freedom to make plays. On3 RPM has us currently favored at 44.2% with GT at 38.7%

Updated, sorry didn't realize I left Hannibal off and still had Coleman on. The roster is now set at 13 scholarship players.

Today, Gary Redus re-tweeted a narrowed list of schools by 2024 5-star wing & gold-medalist Karter Knox that LSU is one of Knox' 8 schools he's gonna chose from.
