I liked Costello a lot too. Maybe he wants to go back closer to home. It’s hard not to assume it’s about lack of playing time though which makes it tough. The coaches either have to force feed guys who aren’t ready yet or be ok if they transfer out. I don’t think we will too many kids redshirt and stay anymore

Ashton Larson is an interesting one. Really expected him and Brown to make a big leap but hes been plagued by an injury and a deep outfield roster. With the amount of pinch hits and Stanfield likely leaving I would expect him to stay and makeup a 3-headed monster in Brown, Curiel, and Larson in the outfield next season but stranger things have happened. Also not discounting Brown potentially moving to 1B if another outfielder shows promise to keep Larson in the lineup.

Really do not want him to leave. Very talented player.

I think he could really have a shot at 1B next year if he’s patient and rides it out.

Larson seems to have embraced his role on this years team. Maybe he's more bought in and willing to stick around than it would seem from the outside.

I hope he’s not being lied to like he was last year by Kling and Neal. Correct me if I’m wrong, but they told Jay they were staying only to enter their name in the portal soon after.

idk I dont see too many of those types

Milam, Brown, Curiel, Maybe Stanfield is coming back? I giuld see him being a Braswell type guy. he doesn’t have the power to
make an MLB roster and he would need Crews BA/OB numbers to justify a signing bonus.

He may also think John Oearson is a guy next year.

Then the pitching you’re hoping Evans, Williams, Rizy and Schmidt take the sophmore
jump like Anderson.

my biggest concerns left on the roster would be larson and reaves

I thought it was 34?

34 players down from 40 means 6 players per team. Assuming all 300 D1 baseball teams hold a full roster means 1800 student athletes without a spot next year.

Yeah I just talked to a retired MLB guy that still works with a lot of high school kids and he said that a lot of your mid majors and all aren't even looking at any high school kids this year as they are waiting for the big dump in the portal from every SEC and ACC school, etc releasing 5-6 kids this year.

It looks like he played a mix of 3B, 2B, & 1B at High Point.

I thought Dorsey would have been a bigger factor in the bullpen. Maybe his stuff wasn't as good as they thought? I guess with a 40 man roster you could take more chances on guy? Kade Woods, Dorsey, etc.

1B will be very intriguing next year. Does Frey or Larson get a stab at it? One of the freshmen who didn't play?

Many disagree, but I would not get my hopes up on Frey if he continues to hit like he has. He may get drafted higher than Bear.

Frey will have to come back and prove that he can play somewhere defensively for draft purposes.
