Fall scrimmages are gonna be insane.

The thing that made this class special to me is three players, Nawrocki, Santarelli and Washington. I'm not saying they are the best in this class, but they are three I thought would lose to MLB.

I have posted, before other posters and all of these local youtubers, that we will lose similar to last year's draft. We lost 8 last year and I expected to lose 8 this year, give it take a few more or less. Well we lost 7, but it wasn't the 7 I expected. I did expect 5 of them, Schmidt, Hirschkorn, Murphy, Sides and Evans. I didn't expect to lose Blomker and Roberson. I did expect to lose Nawrocki, Santarelli and Washington. That is an awesome trade in my books.

A couple years ago Jay said out of his own mouth he wasn't big on paying NIL to highschool players, with the exception first round talent. I think that has evolved and Jay's theory is different now. I heard that there was a push for Nawrocki and Washington and by push, I mean NIL. I can reasonably assume other players were made NIL as well.

NIL has changed the game for the draft. NIL will never compete dollar to dollar but players can actually make more money going to the college route. Good players can make multiple NIL offers in their college career then sign MLB when they are done. So you can have multiple NIL deals and a signing bonus or just a signing bonus. The only thing we are now is competing is the one bird in the hand is better than two in the bush theory. They can take the signing money now or stay in college and actually make more money, plus have a better lifestyle and an education. Is it worth the risk? With bigger than ever NIL deals, I think the trend will move more to going to college.

If we continue to have the financial support this year that we have next year, watch out. The 2027 class is loaded, and on paper. is better than the 2026 class.

I agree it couldn't have realistically gone much better. Jay, his staff, and the $ donors deserve a victory lap for this class.

Only thing I might disagree on is that it would not surprise me to see a guy or two leave after fall for more playing time somewhere else. Looks like they all have a roster spot, but the odds of all of the position guys being content as back ups would surprise me. You may also have a pitcher decide to move on after the fall as well once they see where they stack up.

I hope Jay is “mad” every year if that’s why kids decide to come to school

kids were not getting million dollar bonuses 16 round or later

On one hand you can count the bonuses over 400k and one kids got $787k really late, but if Murphy and Washington don’t make it to campus it’s because they really don’t want to go to college.

Washington has already announced his intentions to go to school. I expect Murphy gone to MLB or another school where he can start as a freshman. Murphy is an eligible sophomore and doesn't want to stay in college for than more than 2 years. There is just too much competition for Murphy at LSU this year and next year.
