Speaking of former Tigers re-entering the portal, Ashton Larson is back in.

For sure
I’m all for players using the portal to gain more playing time
I hate how it’s become a pay for play now though

Yeah I wonder if we would have gotten a look at 3B in '25? He likely would've been the everyday 2B this past yeasr.
I say that, but he had a pretty high K rate for the B1G.

For the amount of playing time he got (46 starts) in a pretty good Texas lineup, Larson was surprisingly unproductive. He hit .258 with an OPS of .769. Only 16 RBIs in 128 ABs. Slugging percentage was an anemic .336. I thought favorably of Larson and wanted him to succeed at Texas (frick the rest of that program). Did not see him falling off this heavily. As opposed to some of the incoming transfers, one could say Jay actually evaluated this portal-related data set correctly.

Larson has been tied to Cain for a long time
Committed to LSU when Cain was still on staff
Wonder if he follows him to aggies

Ryan Costello to Wake Forest. They just had two Costellos transfer out, I think both to South Carolina.
But man, if he couldn't hit in the Big 10, this is going to be rough for him.

I hope the Oregon OF Laya does not wind up at Georgia.

For starters, he stinks. So I doubt he’s getting a chance at a 3rd SEC school. Quite frankly, he would be doing himself a disservice to continue trying to pose as an SEC baseball player.
He also has a connection with Dan Fitzgerald and is from Kansas City. I’d be shocked if he isn’t at Kansas or Kansas St.

I strongly dislike what Wes has been doing in portal. It’s no longer a flash in the pan.

Wes is not a likeable guy and I don't like Georgia. I want to see them crash and burn. All they do is get portal players to hit HRs every year and flame out in the post season. They will have that catch up to them eventually.

You'd think that "pitching guru" Wes Johnson would develop more than a single viable post season pitcher 3 years into leading a program.
They can enjoy their 20+ win regular seasons all they want. He has failed to build a team that can win a championship in a real park.

DJ Primeaux to Nicholls. I hope he does well there.

Damn, I liked McCoy coming out. Think he can play SS

I think he will. I was not a fan of him for this level but I believe he's every bit capable of putting up solid numbers at a lower level school.

I don't think we were ever really in it for him. Unfortunately for us, most of the good transfers are going to end up in the SEC.

Really really hoping Marshall louque will be either on the 2027 or 2028 roster
We need Louisiana kids mixed with the elite players from California, Texas, and Florida

I think it's just the way it is is today's college baseball landscape as most SEC schools can recruit nationwide.
