I definitely feel that Jay will try and put some sort of NIL package to try and get one of these freshman OF to pull their name from the draft. Hopefully one of them will take him on it.

He CLAIMS he's no longer doing that. NIL money cannot compete with what MLB teams can offer. These kids need to come to college for other reasons.

I agree with your phrasing

That puts us at 53/41 on the roster.

I love how when the news dropped he was for sure coming to campus by all the talking heads… now he’s a fast riser like the real scouts didn’t see the stuff and say hey this kids pretty good

Wasn't this pretty similar to what happened to Miz? Or were we always expecting him to sign.

I still fantasize about a Skenes/Miz/Taylor rotation.

Is this a big loss? Hate losing a LHP if it's a great prospect.

Not going to pretend I know anything about him, but likely no.

You don't separate this late into the process (and get released from an LOI) unless it's done by the school.

Figured we processed him, but I can't pretend to know anything about him either.

He was originally committed in the 2027 class, but even after reclassifying up to 2026 he was on pace to be a draft eligible sophomore.

We do all those dumb Peak Events tournaments supposedly for recruiting purposes and next season we will be in Vegas with no Vegas players on the roster or in any future recruiting classes.

Am I reading this right - he was essentially 2 years old for his grade before reclassifying?

Online recruiting profiles state he is an excellent student.

I wonder why he's so old for his grade...hmmmmm

IIRC any hope we had was diminished after the draft combine

Does anyone know why we don’t send anyone to USA CNT nowadays?

Serna seemed like a good candidate this year.

Serna was invited but held back by LSU due to injury.

I can understand why we wouldn’t send pitchers to CNT.

Curiel not going made sense last year and Serna not going makes sense as well. I forgot about the hand injury.

Not too long ago, players on the CNT was a pretty good indicator of success the following year.

I also think we didn’t send anyone last year because we were playing so late into June.
