Came here to post this.

Single season hit+stolen base records this year for Dayton.

Also gives Yamin a friend, which I am all for.

I quickly thought Yamin could put in a good word to get him to come here but looks like they didn't play together over there. DeMartini was at Penn State in 2024 when Yamin was at Dayton then Yamin came here and DeMartini went to Dayton for 2025.

Dickinson's 20ish stolen bases may not have translated, but I would think 37 at Dayton has to transfer to at least 15 in the SEC

I think Bailey defecting to A$M pissed Jay off so much because he knows he needs to bring in some lefty talent. Can't rely solely on Williams, Ware, and Primeaux.

Who knows if Ware and Primeaux are even for sure back.

Mack would be great, but doesn't help that issue.

Ruiz looks awesome too. Southland hitter of the year.

Short, compact swing. Hit-first, on base guy. Broke the school records for runs.

Ware is similar to Mayers with him being an analytics darling that you couldn’t really trust in meaningful situations. MLB.com had him rated around the same spot as Anderson to start the year iirc.

50BB to 27K will play. 22 doubles also.

Jay preaches walks and doubles. Seems like that fits that philosophy pretty well.

On the other side of the coin, does anyone else think we look to be pretty LH heavy at the plate as of right now? Maybe RH infield bats will be one of his top priorities.

Arambide will play, Pearson will get a chance somewhere, and Simpson should be serviceable at worst, but there doesn’t appear to be a lot you know you can lean on from that side currently.

What's the word on Juco guys Harden and Plog? Haven't heard much on them. Anyone expect them to contribute?

I agree with tigerfan, I don't see Ware back-- just like Mayers. Neither have the consistency to have an expanded role. Both have the stuff to be drafted relatively high. Neither have leverage to return.

Cowan and Primeaux may just be career college guys.

Noot, Guidry, and Frey can possibly improve their stock.

Larson just depends on if he's going to play or not.

Harden had an amazing year and should contribute.

Project posted something a couple weeks ago about Plog maybe staying in JUCO another year similar to Reaves.

ETA: final statlines

Daniel Harden, OF (McLennan)
201AB, 72H, 71R, 12HR, 56RBI, 46BB, 28SO, 20-20SB, .358/.515/.632/1.147

Ethan Plog, LHP (Iowa Western)
12G, 10GS, 5-3, 4.98 ERA, 34.1 IP, 34H, 22R, 19ER, 21BB, 40K, 1.60 WHIP

I'll believe anyone stealing significant bases at LSU when I see it. They acted like they were going to steal more this year and didn't. Stanfield and Brown could have stolen 20+ bases if they wanted to incorporate the steal. Why would we expect anyone else to come in and steal bases?

we really don’t love stealing bass.

we prefer to use our base running speed being really aggressive at 3rd
