I don’t see a scenario where LSU doesn’t give the baseball program 34 scholarships. How could Arizona State possibly afford that with their much smaller budget?

Also LSU’s usual NIL guys haven’t left so I’m not sure why anyone thinks the well has run dry. We may be anticipating a lot of freshmen making it to campus.

Yep. LSU baseball has always been kinda doing their own thing with NIL. The increased resources going to football and basketball are a separate issue.

They’ve done it every offseason he’s been there. I guess you can do that when you never have to worry about playing in a super.

They did not come close to this kind of pitching talent in the last portal go around, they only had 1 top 100 overall pitcher in 2024 cycle. Another guy just inside the top 150 and then their 3rd pitcher was ranked outside the top 300

Does High Point just play rec league teams?

When I compare his numbers to some of these other small school guys, it seems like he’s performing better.

Now that supers are over. We should see a new wave of portal entries this week. Hopefully a few big arms we can snag

Yeah, I also noticed how BM casually let it out on the broadcast last night that he ran into Yeskie at dinner hosting a portal recruit.

i always wondered outside of revenue lost due to not renting rooms what does scholarships actually cost the university?

It’s not like LSU isn’t taking students to make room for athletes. they’ll take as
many as they can get.

Just doing some cleanup on my tracker and looking up Jonah Aase. Looks like he had TJ in December. I wonder if that puts his roster spot in jeopardy. I know there has been some talk about a local guy having TJ and being asked to go the JUCO route before coming back to LSU, because of the roster crunch.

He's a super low slot guy. We haven't really had anyone like that here, at least in a while. Unique look for whoever gets him.

ETA: Also, either 77 or 81 innings depending on where you look, but all of them in relief. No starts, but starter type innings.
