Josh Jordan seemed a little pissed when talking about the draft on Miked up. He said he would change things about the draft if he could (have slot values set in stone) and he thought it was as if the mlb intentionally wanted to get hs kids through their programs instead of letting them go to college.

For the life of me I’ll never understand why the league and the teams wouldn’t want this too, and get to cut out all the gymnastics.

Because there are teams that don’t want to spend their full slot value and be cheap.

I agree with him that MLB could do a whole lot more to market the draft period. The fact that no players are there at all makes it seem like an afterthought.

Someone on another message board said Texags is saying we are on to Zach York 1B from Grand Canyon. I don’t see us connected to him through any social but nevertheless
Zach Yorke, 1B, Grand Canyon, JR
.339/.447/.622/1.079, 36R, 13HR, 46RBI, 35BB, 28K

Last year there were players there. I wonder why they changed it.

The success rate for MLB draftees who attend college is so much higher, you’d think even the teams would try to stay away from HS kids outside of the first 2 rounds.

That was retweeted by Dax Dathe, who was teammates with Reaves at Grayson CC (before a Reaves transferred to Blinn). I think Dathe may be about to pop to us. It would continue the trend this portal season of getting guys already connected to guys on the team.
Ryler Smart and Omar Serna
Garcia and Milam
Dathe and Reaves
You can’t manufacture team chemistry and it’s hard to build culture through the portal, but this feels like a way to hasten the process. Or at least an attempt to.

Wonder if we are still in on the Stanford pitcher

Project, if Aase is a medical redshirt, does he count against the 34?
People seem to be all over the place with the rule exceptions.

I have searched and have not been able to find out anything about any type of redshirting.
