If the option for him to return is there you would have to think he would be entertaining it at this point.

Quite simple….if the option is between Larson and Stanfield then Stanny is the obvious choice

If the option is that simple then I agree with you even though you getting downvoted. I think Stanfield will take what he can get tomorrow though.

No hate on stanfield at all

But Larson is a better hitter and has a higher ceiling

Haha. I love Stanfield, and do hope he comes back, but this is a bad take.

Well first day is over. About what was expected I guess. Thought a few more recruits might have been taken by now.

Larson certainly didn’t take advantage of his opportunity when he got in there!

How is he a better hitter? And does defense not matter at all?

Stanfield led a national championship team in BA through SEC play (I know Larson had a good freshmen year too).
He was absolutely lights out through the post season and had some clutch hits. He started the big inning against Morrison with a 2 rbi knock amongst many other clutch hits.
He just started over Larson all season.
He’s a better base runner too.
Right handed batter which has been mentioned as something that would be nice with curiel and brown locking up the other spots.
Seems pretty obvious to me

Edit: I’m genuinely open to hearing an argument for why Larson would be better than Stanfield.

Stanfield's value is defense in center field. If Curiel is going to play center field no matter what, I'd prefer Larson's bat in left field. Stanfield will probably still get drafted and sign anyway.

Top 4 recruits gone. Will see what tomorrow looks like. Holding out hope that McKenzie, Sime, and Patrick drop enough to tempt them to campus. Time will tell

He hardly got consistent at bats. Johnson kept rolling out Pearson even though he didn’t hit either. Never gave Larson a shot

Stanfield is a fine 9 hole in a loaded lineup, but when you need to re-tool the middle of the order, Larson would be a better option to attempt to make up some of those holes.

Ebel went higher than I feel he should have. I wasn't expecting him here, though.

Eyanson went lower than I feel he should have. I think he will have a nice pro career.

I really want to get Patrick here to see what Jay and Chief can do with the bat, especially with him focusing entirely on baseball. Those exact reasons are why I think MLB teams might pay him.

If you include Larsons down year this year (injury, inconsistent abs) his career average at lsu is 289

Stanfields is 298

Larson has a whole lot more power than Stanfield.

Again Stanfield was an excellent player this year and I’m not hating on him at all.

Larson was just named an all star in the cape for a second year in a roww.

Larson could easily be a day 1 pick next year.

I’d love to have both but if I could pick one it would be Larson
