Christiansen and Preister are my guesses. JUCO commits.

Looks like Reagan Ricken, 2025 catcher from California is one of them. I'd been waiting on him to announce.

Does he project as a catcher or pitcher in your opinion?

He's 6'4" 220 and plays QB for his HS team and I think had some offers there, so obviously he reminds me of Frey.

I don't know enough about his pitch arsenal to say anything definitively. Low 90s fastball and starter's body type gives me reason to think he may pitch though.

I'll have to go through and look at positions. Vaughn Neckar looks like Pitcher only now too. But some of these guys committed when there was still question over which way they'd go.

Reagan Ricken's dad played at Michigan and then a bunch of years in the minors. His brother plays at CSU-San Bernardino. So he's got bloodlines.

Hadn't seen it previously, but would assume that the Caminiti kid is Ken's?

He is not. They're cousins at some level. Not sure how close.

Don't think Ken had any as young as this kid. He did have a daughter that attended LSU about 10 or so years ago.

LSU just picked up a commit from 2025 California INF Quentin Young from Oaks Christian.

ETA: I guess we got our own O'Neil Cruz or Elly De La Cruz. He's a 6'5" shortstop.

The recent additions of Young and Ricken give us 9 guys on Baseball America's Top 100 for 2025.

There aren't a ton of uncommitted kids left on the list but we're after a bunch more of them. There is one uncommitted Louisiana kid on the 2025 Top 100, OF William Patrick from St Fred's in Monroe. We're recruiting him for baseball, I don't know his interest in playing football at the next level but he's a really good athlete and I hope we reel him in.

Looks like Young just recently reclassified to 25, appears to be a case similar to Brady Neal.

Caminiti

I have no idea if it’s negotiating talk or sincere, but I saw an interview with Caminiti at the PG All-American game and he talked a little about how Dylan Crews had said coming to LSU was the best 3 years of his life and how important it was to Crews to experience college. Thought that was interesting and gave me a little hope that maybe he will be a tough sign for a pro team
