I'd gladly take Braswell back for another year

Whether or not that's true I don't want to see Cam in P&G after telling Jay to his face one thing then calling him to tell him his true thoughts. Be a man don't hide behind a curtain, if you want to leave then leave.

Damn I thought I read somewhere that Ohio state was supposed to be investing more into baseball

Braswell could be argued as one of our best players late in the season. Dude was raking and defense was just fine. Please give me Braswell back. Anyone hoping he doesn’t come back doesn’t know shite.

People may try to discount the level of competition, but our SEC and ACC peers are taking a lot of the position players he faced from places like Fairfield and Canisius and Niagara.

To me, you really can't discount a pitcher that throws like that. Same with reyzelman.

You can tell they both throw flames. Sheerin has sick movement.

Yeah, I think it's easier to tell who is capable of pitching at higher levels than it is to tell who will be able to hit. You can't see how a guy is going to handle high end pitching, if he almost never faces it. But with pitchers that have elite stuff, it's just a matter of commanding it. Great stuff plays everywhere. Now, of course, as you move up in levels of competition, it helps to have more than two pitches, but when you have that kind of movement, again, as long as he commands it, I don't see even SEC hitters doing much against him.

I mean, he did this as a freshman. I don't care who he faced. You gotta believe a big jump is coming from where he already is in his development, and I'm looking forward to seeing what that looks like.

I’d rather keep Braswell and get Mikey Ryan ready to take over for him in ‘26

Print the Mikey & Milam '26 shirts. But, seriously, I'd love to have Braswell and Milam again in the middle next year. Get Reaves, Kuch, and Ryan reps at 3B. I do think Jay will still mull over portal options for 3B, though. Reaves could prob slide to 1B.

I agree and think tanner is your 3rd baseman next season

I keep seeing this and was curious where Reaves played this past season.

Reaves played a few games at SS, then spent a weekend at 2B during a weekend series in February, made 3 errors in 3 days and played the rest of the season in the OF, mainly in RF, with a few games in CF.

I wonder if being on Root after landing Sheerin means they think Herring isn’t coming back.

You have presumably Herring, Shores, and Anderson. I guess maybe they could use Sheerin in the pen. If you land Root, somebody is the odd man out in the weekend rotation.

And is Root totally healthy? Knew he was shut down for a while.

How good is Kilen? How did he do in conference?

I’m not familiar with Reaves so I went and looked at his numbers. Any idea what led to the drop off in HRs in 2024? Everything else looked pretty similar to his 2023 season.

I don't think adding these guys have anything to do with Herring. They have roster spots and plenty of opportunity for everyone.

They are losing about 70% of the innings pitched from 2024. And that is only factoring guys that are for sure leaving (graduation, draft & transfer portal)

dunno exactly why. But he is not a big kid, he is a wiry 6'1". He can really run and just watching some of his stuff, is an excellent hitter . Uses all fields and has that Tommy White ability to barrell pitches anywhere in the zone.

Could just be that he isn't quite a 20Hr and his numbers normalized.

He was recovering from a back surgery in the offseason. His numbers were down and then he surged in the back half when he started getting healthy

Or you just stockpile the talent and see what roles everyone can fill and worry about playing time issues later. We know how this goes, someone wont live up to the billing and someone will likely get hurt and we’ll be wishing we had added more depth down the line

As posted above, he had a back injury that took a little longer than he expected to heal. He ended the season raking and is continuing it in summer ball.

Agreed. I think Jay isn't going to get caught off guard and not have enough pitching. I'm sure Herring has a number and if a team meets it he'll probably go pro. But you can't plan your team next year around an unkown.
