I gotta assume if that had been decided already, no way Jay is having him at that dinner.

Might be obvious but I think Curiel is the most impactful player position we can get next year imo and would play over the guys mentioned in CF. I know he has dropped some with the draft projections because of power at the plate but Derek has very high level tools and has been producing at a high level in the field/at the plate . One of the hardest outs I’ve seen on the summer circuit and can track balls with the best of them. Not sure we get him but I know his parents were looking at moving to Baton Rouge from Cali at one point.

And Mic Paul, but he doesn't seem to be on track to make much of a contribution.

I’m surprised he hasn’t hit the portal. He didn’t see anytime this year, which is a concern with the issues we had. I did hear he was hurt later in the year? Anyone know?

FWIW Kyle Jones followed both Tutko and Jordan back. He is from Athens though. Would be nice piece to add. Stetson played a lot of good teams this season.

I watched Curiel play vs Barbe on YouTube over the summer. Ton of college players on the field & his actions definitely stood out as advanced. He definitely needs some beef but reminded me of an Andrew benitendi type player

Jones is a R/R Centerfielder with seemingly a ton of speed (23 SB/5 CS). He's 6'3 170 and only had 5 HR last year. Seems like the perfect guy for Jay to bring in, add some weight, and tweak the swing a little and add 6-7 HR.

Not getting my hopes up on Jones. That’s got Georgia or Florida written all over it for me.

Hell, given Project’s recent post about FSU and FSU in the clip, I thought Link got another one.

Link got a different reliever from South Florida yesterday.

To be honest, pulling Dorsey from there is kind of a coup.

Prior to this year, FSU had only been to Omaha twice in the last 12 seasons. That's not going to be the case under Jarrett, is it?

I agree, I don't think Jay would have had Rooney there had it been decided, but I would assume Paul was a serious candidate for SC at that time. If so, Paul might had already had conversations with Rooney about being pitching coach. So Rooney could have been at that dinner knowing being Cowan's pitching coach at SC was a possibility. Just interesting food for thought.

He'll be in CF for a blue-blood program in 2025.

Definitely not Georgia. Would you consider Florida a blue blood? Am I looking too much into this comment?

I think he just means blue bloods will be after him. Not that a team like UGA can’t get him.

I would put Florida in the modern day blue blood list. Traditional blue bloods are weird with baseball. Most of them aren’t any good anymore but UF has been to Omaha 9 times in the last 14 years. I would say that’s as elite as it gets without a run like we had in the 90s.

Jay is doing a press conference right now going into the offseason. He was asked about Terry Rooney going to USC with his response being "No comment". Might have been something there of Rooney being in there knowing he had the opportunity to go and just never said anything.

Taken from Glen West and Koki Riley on twitter:

- Jay Johnson says without hesitation that Griffin Herring would pitch weekends (as a starter) if he elects to come back.
- Jay Johnson says Chase Shores was throwing upwards of 97.7 mph the other day.

Says 14 months post surgery he looks great with an improving slider.
- Jay Johnson said that Paul Mainieri called him yesterday telling him that he took the South Carolina job. #LSU “They’ll probably be really good. I’m very happy for coach. He’s been very good to me since I came here.”
- Jay said that he anticipates #LSU will have at least 5 and as many as 11 players drafted in July.
- Jay Johnson with high praise on veteran pitcher Will Hellmers:

“You gotta have Tommy White. You gotta have Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews…

But you gotta have Will Hellmers also.”
- Jay Johnson says it’s difficult to build a program given the college baseball/atheltics landscape today, which is something he’s prided himself on.

“I don’t think we’re building a program anymore. It’s probably more about building your team one year at a time.”

Shores touching 97 with his velo and the slider is starting to look really good.

Herring will be a weekend starter if he decides to return.

Says he anticipates at least 5 players drafted and could have as many as 11.

Pretty much all I saw so far. Waiting for the video to come out on youtube to listen to the full interview.
