Dallas Dale walking away from baseball. Was expected to redshirt according to Koki but he’s not going to be apart of the team now.

Hope everything works out for him.
I saw Kaleb Applebey is committed to Austin Peay.

I didn’t realize he was transferring. Must have missed that one

Didn't realize he was no longer with the program...and Dallas Dale walking away...anyone know anything about that?

I've just seen "personal reasons" so it must be something of a sensitive nature.

I wonder if it has to do with them telling him he was gonna redshirt (Dale)

I would think that conversation happened before he even stepped on campus

Never really got to see what he could do
On top of that brown will likely start in of

Cant imagine Dale walking away from baseball just getting to college without it being a career ending type medical issue probably.

Dale leaving puts us at 44/40 for the upcoming season (the 4 redshirts seem to have already been decided).
For next season it puts us at either 57 or 59/40. That's a pretty low number for having so many draft risk guys. I think we'll have room to add a decent amount of either JUCO or portal guys this offseason, if we feel we need to.
The reason I don't know if we're at 57 or 59 is because I don't know the current statuses of Landon Victorian and Matt Champion.

Or he got into some sort of trouble and is moving back home. I’m not sure if there is a baseball injury that would make you quit all together.

He had found him a gym chick. Things seemed to be going well. I seriously doubt it had anything to do with injury or redshirting. Personal is personal. The end.

landons not coming here imo even if the appeal is successful.

I figured, I'm just waiting on something either from the kid or a news source before I take him off the list. I know LSU won't comment.

I see where Chase Shores is now listed as RS Fr on the roster, looks like he qualified for an injury RS even though he pitched some during sec play before he got hurt
Also, Kade Woods is listed as RS Soph and he battled injuries at Bama and he was initially listed as a Jr
That gives him another potential leverage year with regards to the draft

Meanwhile Aiden Moffett has 19 total pitches and 0 IP and loses a whole year. Definitely glad they got theirs but the NCAA really needs to rework redshirts. Football players can play 1/3 of the regular season plus bowl and maintain theirs, baseball needs something similar. I say just have everyone have 5 years tbh, it would be better for the sport and players. Then increase travel roster limits for the tournament from only 27

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense as Moffett only pitched in one game the whole year
I guess injuries are a lot different from the NCAA standpoint, Shores will miss basically a year if you combine last year with this upcoming season. Maybe that has something to do with it.

If anyone is interested, ‘24 LSU JUCO commit Conner Ware and Pearl River face Gulf Coast State College tomorrow morning in the Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic.

I will definitely be keeping an eye on that, thank you.
Baseball America just updated their draft list and expanded it from 100 to 200. I haven't digested the whole list yet, but the most interesting thing to me so far is Gavin Guidry at 182 on the list.
That would put him somewhere in round 5 or 6 of the draft, where the bonuses typically aren't going to be enough to pull a guy with DES leverage. But that he's included on the list already is pretty big and there is a real chance he raises his stock and is gone after this season.
