lets say he signs for 800k which is well over the slot value. 100-150 after taxes. Thats good but it’s not set for life good.
thats 450-500k after his agent and taxes? lets call it 600.
he’s 18. average age of MLb rookie I 24. That’s 4-6 years. so he’s make

It’s hard to judge what these kids are thinking. Got Schmidt turning down 3+ and wondering about 400-800k for others.
Also feels like we are still very much in a calibration period with the new landscape

Some guys just lean more to the risk side of going to college and flaming out vs the reward side and trusting the development.

Losing Fountian isn’t that bad of a sting. We’ve got plenty of boppers coming in that can play 3B

Herring to Yankees in 6th round, hope he got a lot more than $340k slot value there

Let’s see what Jay’s Twitter response is for Griff. That’ll be telling

I thought those kind of comments were going to stay on the rant, shame on me for that.

I mean I don't know why anyone would expect Jay to say something bad.

Call me an optimist, but that sounds like Jay not letting go.

That was not the suggestion.
But “congrats! What an honor!” Is the type of response that would lend the possibility of a return.

I didn't expect anything bad, but he's tweeting a farewell of sors to those selected b/c we know they aren't coming back. Herring was the first one drafted that some believed would come back.
