The person (family or player) that sets up the perfect game account puts the commitment to the school or takes it off . Perfect game does not manage it . I can set up a free account right with my name and put myself as a LSU commitment and I would show on the commitment list. Same for PBR or any of those sites .

Right now, after Day 1, we're looking like somewhere around 48/40. But this still includes guys that will be drafted and sign. We're probably closer to about 43/40 in reality.

Matt would be better off just stealing info from this thread (which he probably does a good bit anyway)

Matt could have Jay's whiteboard and still be wrong.

The Cam part of that announcement is hilarious

At this point I really hope Jay worked on Arrambide to pass on mlb.

Our 50/50 type guys Arrambide and Fountain must be sweated out tomorrow.
Save your sweat, I’m pretty sure Arrambide pulled his name

He declared that he's no longer fielding offers.
He can't pull his name at this point.

Yeah I mean he's obviously still got friends on the team. As opposed to Kling and Neal who sound like bitter pussies.

quote:I was curious for perspective how impressive this is, so I looked up Dylan Crews 2020 PG ranking and it was 13.
So we have the #5 , #10, and #13 players out of highschool coming to play ball next year? That is crazy! Has that ever happened before?
Not saying any will be better or have a bigger impact than Crews, but the potential is there.

Last night I confirmed, with someone as close to the situation as you can be, that Schmidt’s number took a massive jump a couple of days before the draft (i’m guessing a big NIL movement). He got his original number but held firm. Hell of a job by Jay and co. I’ve never been so happy to be wrong.

Dandy Don calling you out:
When I reported last week that a trusted source told me Schmidt would likely keep his commitment and attend LSU, I took a lot of flack for that. People thought it impossible that he would turn down a multi-million dollar signing bonus to attend LSU, but that is precisely what he did.

I mean he had to be fielding at least $2.5M-$3M offers from teams. I find it hard to believe we could package him something north of that. You're talking $1M+ a year if we "Exceeded" his signing bonus offers. Maybe I'm way off here but no way we have that kind of money to be throwing around for baseball players especially on a single person level.
Maybe we just made it enough for him to say no, not that we actually exceeded what MLB teams were offering. We knew all along he loved LSU and wanted to come to school, but maybe he just needed some monetary reassurance leaving behind $2.5M-$3M wasnt the worst idea and he could make even more than that after 3 years here (or similar money). Maybe we got him something like $300k-$500k/yr, which still seems really high to me, but maybe something competitive like that was enough to get him to choose us over MLB.

I am now allowing myself to watch Schmidt highlights. I didnt want to get too excited.
The run he gets in the fastball is nice. He is going to do some damage.

Now on his podcast he is saying that he thinks one of the portal pitchers asks for a release. SMH
While they don’t need a release. I could see someone backing off due to additions. Take someone who wants to start, but lsu has added eyanson Schmidt and if herring comes back. Starting spots becoming limited.

hope they keep eyanson
competition for starting spots will be intense as it should be especially if Herring comes back
good thing is you don't have to rush Schmidt, remember Nola started out as the midweek guy his fr year

If Herring also decides to come back I could definitely see a portal pitcher wanting out. We would just have a ton of options for starters at that point.
I do think we lose 1 portal pitcher to pro ranks anyways though.

We definitely didn’t exceed. That would be impossible. Something sweetened the pot, or he finally started listening to his parents. They have been pushing school because they’re both education freaks with PhD’s.

I doubt Hayden is coming to campus. Ulloa is probably also getting drafted, so I'd be a little surprised if anyone opted out.
