I don't know how either of those two would have eligibility. I'm really tired of the COVID year shite.
Also, apparently Kucherak is in the portal. That sucks, he's doing well in summer ball and I thought he may be poised to contribute this upcoming season.

That is disappointing. We need a Tiger Emoji or 2 ASAP.

Dude wtf is going on man. If some of these portal guys who are draft risks don’t come to campus were not looking to shabby at the field positions

Wonder if that’s a sign Braz is sticking around or a transfer IF is heading in. Cause JJ was retweeting his summer ball highlights recently

I don't think you can really count on Braswell returning. Jay thought Pineda and Carter Young were coming then got bamboozled.

Geez what do some of these kids want

We need a big name to pop out of the portal

To play.
He likely sees that Jay is recruiting the portal for middle infielders over him and isn't willing to sit around and wait for his time. It is the way the recruiting/portal game is now. Expect lots of roster movement every off season because this will just continue to happen each year with guys who don't see the PT in the near future for them.

Dallas Dale
Cam Johnson
Ryan Kucherak
Derrick Mitchell
Austen Roellig
MJ Seo
Dylan Thompson
A bunch of missed evals or college baseball in 2024?

I understand that they want to play. But do you think you’re going to come to a school like LSU and not have to beat out talented players for playing time? I mean if you just want playing time go to smaller school or JC the scouts will find you.

Are other top programs losing so much talent?
Serious question. Is this happening all over the SEC?

Unless something changed in the last half hour he’s not in the portal.

Aggots gotta be preseason #1
Their lineup will be elite, but if Prager is drafted Jason Kelly will be working with a staff similar to LSU in 2022

What I don’t understand is that he’s had a fricking month to enter the portal, why did he wait until the last minute
Posted on 7/2/24 at 5:36 pm to Gnash
Maybe some tampering going on in the Cape?

I guess that’s part of my issue. I understand the nature of things these days but this amount of roster turnover every year in not sustainable.
Posted on 7/2/24 at 5:47 pm to TigerCub
Agreed. At some point you’ve got to have a nucleus of guys who develop, have chemistry, and actually have some meaningful investment in the program

Georgia has 16 in the portal. Kentucky 12, Miami 15, Arkansas 5, Wake 13, Auburn 11, Alabama 10, Vandy 10, Florida 9, state 9
So yeah it’s happening everywhere.

This is true, but I also see the other side. Almost all kids out of HS are thinking three years and then hit the draft. The industry standard is you start your pro career at 21. If you don’t play as a freshman, then get recruited over when you think you are up next, that doesn’t leave much time left to showcase your talent and get better. As a position player, you have to get ABs to adjust to a higher level of competition and improve. It doesn’t happen by sitting.

quote:Time will tell. I think it’s fair to say Johnson needs some sure fire impact players from the 24 high school class and then to retain them. LE has had some good points about third year “homegrown” players. The most recent crop last season didn’t really deliver but the only Johnson HS evals/adds that have made any kind of impact so far are Shores and Noot.
