I thought the same, but wasn't going to put that in the same post where I said he committed.
I have to think that means we're expecting Mic Paul to not be back, probably Griffin Cooley (but I'd like to see him stick around).
For this to come on the heels of Curiel announcing he's making it to campus is a little strange.

I actually really liked him when we played against him. Hopefully Jay can take his bat to the next level.
In his bio it says he went 2 for 4 against Paul Skenes. You know you’re good as a pitcher when someone puts that they got 2 hits off of you in their bio.

Coming off the back of the Curiel news is what’s really strange. The outfield seems relatively set at this point.

Have to think this is a Nippolt type transfer. Our outfield on paper is stacked with Brown Pearson Larson Frey and now Curiel. Unless Larson is making the move to the hot corner I guess.

Need more athleticism, RH hitting, & a CF. Don’t hate it. I suspect Jay will talk about him like he did Braswell. Sees a tweak that can unlock something

Yall think this is what the Jay tweet is about?
OF is gonna be crowded for sure. Looks like this kid gives you some speed on the base paths so that should be fun to play around with.

The outfield is about to be fast as frick with Brown, Curiel, and now Stanfield.

Looking through the 64 analytics rankings, the team rankings are heavily weighted by amount of players committed.
For example, Kentucky is #1 with 9 guys committed. We're #7 with 5 guys committed. Our top 4 commits are all ranked a good bit higher than any of Kentucky's commits, and our lowest ranked commit (Dorsey the USF transfer) would be their 3rd best commit.
We also have 4 guys ranked in the top 51 (Cowan is 51). No one else has more than 2. Only UGA has more than 2 guys in the top 75, and their third highest commit is ranked 74.

Pearson back to 2B, Milam to SS?

Stanfield is a draft eligible sophomore with a grade as high as the third round by publication.
This may actually be the leverage play people were saying the Hayden commitment was.

I loved when we had great outfield play. Leon, Mitchell, and stevenson, foster have some of the best OF highlights I’ve ever seen.

I could see larson more at first, doesnt really strike me as an outfielder with the way he moves or his arm

I dunno but I’m starting to think this team is going to look like 2023 Kentucky. I just don’t see where very much power is going to come from.

Stanfield has a pretty big arm and can fly. Very similar athlete to Kling, just better at pretty much everything.

I kinda like the Stanfield add. Really good athlete in CF and bat has played fine in the league. If Jay could unlock Braswell at the plate, I think he can do way more with Stanfield since his tools are better.

I’m not certain we ever got him out in 2023. Seemed like every time he came up to bat he was getting in base.
Posted on 6/18/24 at 10:33 am to ProjectP2294
He’s listed as the #131 prospect on PG which is well ahead of Herring and Jones. Intriguing prospect for sure and another draft sweat.

He batted .283 in conference with 73 AB's. That's solid as frick especially when you dive deeper and look at who Auburn had to play this year in conference. They had five weekends in a row playing Vandy, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Kentucky. Jay could turn this kid into a beast. I like this.
