The issue with Shelton is he’s a corner outfielder wanting to play in the dirt hence why he’s transferring.
He’s also a 20 year old freshman who will be draft eligible after next year.

Let him play in the dirt for a year then. Our outfield is crowded anyway and we need some infielders.

He was a defensive liability at 3rd if you recall. Alabama regularly substituted him during late innings for a better defender. Plus we already have 25+ HR production at that position.

I’m aware. Your comment said he was a corner OF looking to play in the dirt and I was just informing you that he played in the dirt the entire season.

Braswell would be an interesting take. Smooth defender but not a great hit tool. Very unlike Jay. He also played all over the infield for SCAR. Think he’s looking to settle in at SS. Obviously has some big upside, former top 50 player out of HS.

Jay didn’t seem to mind crowding positions last year, so I’m sure Braswell is going to be one of several MIF transfers. Last year we had 2 SS transfers with Thompson returning, Dugas expected to move infield and Guidry signed.

Yeah this is purely taking a veteran SEC MIF to compete with a bunch of dudes. He's not the only one coming in that's for sure.

It's not crowded at all right now. I think he meant it will be because he won't be the only transfer piece we're taking. Right now your MIF options are looking like this. I think we add two more guys that can play SS or move to 2B.

Yeah curious to see how he lands here. Average fell off a bit this season to mid 200 range and he doesnt hit for any power. Thompson hit for a pretty middling average but he has some pop.
