While he was almost impossible to hit (.148 BAA, gave up 1 HR all season) he still had 57 walks, 14 WP and 9 HBP in 70 innings this year. So control is still very much a huge issue with him. Cant really start in the SEC giving a free pass an inning basically, but (all jokes aside) maybe Wes working with him can help him improve that control problem.
Just one of those things in the B10 he can maybe get away with giving a free pass an inning because nobody can hit but people will find ways to hit him and chase him very early in games in the SEC working that pitch count up. I remember we worked 8 walks on him in just 3.1 IP in our game.

If a kid that throws 100 wants to transfer to your school, you take him no matter the control issues and figure the rest out later.
Plus, he is not playing football anymore and can concentrate completely on becoming a better pitcher. That will help.

Staff is following guys at a high rate. I learned today that Wofford doesn’t offer any graduate programs so, similar to the Ivy League schools, all their guys with a Covid or redshirt year will leave as grad transfers.

Brock Rodden from Wichita St just entered the portal.
Rodden hit .371 with 17 homers and 64 RBIs this season.

Leiter had big strikeout numbers and walks were his biggest problem, but it sounds like he turned a corner late in the season.
