And gets HBP. He’ll fit right in with our lineup.

Umpires are off the rails here. Yeah there was chirping but everyone was laughing

This will be a good test for Moffet. Want to see him close this out.

Kucherak went deep twice today.
Seems like Derrick Mitchell is done for the summer.

I was surprised to see Moffet redshirted last year. I think it came down to him or Coleman to make the roster numbers work. Moffett was dealing with a minor shoulder injury right before the season started and obviously had some control issues and Coleman was coming along ahead of schedule, so they chose Coleman. I just think there is a lot of potential there. He was up to 98mph in the fall. He is very intelligent and is built like a SEC linebacker. Jay mentioned that he felt our 2024 closer was on the 2023 team and I believe he was referring to Moffet. Jay said the same thing about Grant Taylor when he was a freshmen. I can see Moffet having a Grant Taylor like impact on our team. It might be 2025 before it happens but I believe he has top 50 draft potential before he leaves.

Pretty sure moffet pitched in a game this year.

Who said he didn’t?
You can pitch a certain small amount and still redshirt when you realize a player won’t contribute. You don’t have to predetermine redshirt status

Unless they changed the rules. The moment a player gets an at-bat or makes his first appearance on the mound he loses his redshirt. He did pitch in a game, but if he was hurt he can apply for a medical redshirt.

He definitely came in for one game early in the year. Couldn’t throw strikes and came out and never saw the field after.

Yep. Gave up earned runs and didn’t record an out. Hence the 99.00 ERA.
I’m high on him to make a big jump.

Moffett pitched against Butler in March. He isn't a redshirt

Being red shirted doesn’t have the same meaning as it did in the 80’s and 90’s. Kids that are draft eligible and good, rarely stay their senior year or longer than 3 years. This holds true for both baseball and football.
