Yeah, nothing surprises me anymore but Jay has been incredibly complimentary of Frey this season. It feels like he legitimately wants him to win the right field job next season. And he's a Louisiana kid who's been here 1 season.
Also, Rantz has said 4 Tigers (the maximum allowed) will be joining the Rougarou after the season. He also specifically mentioned keeping players close to home to avoid tampering. When you eliminate the guys leaving, going to the Cape, and already playing other places there aren't that many guys left as options to be those 4. Combined with the comment about avoiding tampering, I fully expected Frey to be 1 of those 4.

I guess if Jobert returns that would significantly change things but I would assume the likelihood of either one of Jobert or Travinski returning is pretty low.

Ehh, Jobert could definetly come back and improve some things. Also Travinski’s sample size likely isn’t large enough yet to garner legit interest.

If we win the championship though some of these older guys may be more willing to just get their pro careers started.

I’d love it if one or both came back, but I think this is their “leverage” year as far as the draft. Not that I think either of them are high picks or couldn’t improve their stock, but this would be the year they could at least try and maximize the $ they get if drafted. (Unless there are more COVID years in the future?)

Would be disappointing to lose out on both Snead and Holman. Their rotation looks to be pretty crowded with Beam and Burns (assuming he returns).
